   • The Student Nurse Extern 2 evaluates their own nursing practice in relation to standards and regulations.

   • The Student Nurse Extern 2 acquires and maintains current knowledge of their assigned duties.

   • The Student Nurse Extern 2 interacts with, and contributes to, the development of peers.

   • The Student Nurse Extern 2 delivers care in a nonjudgmental, nondiscriminatory, sensitive, and culturally competent manner.

   • The Student Nurse Extern 2 collaborates with the patient, family members, significant others, and healthcare providers in providing care.

   • The Student Nurse Extern 2 communicates effectively with patients, families, and other healthcare providers.

Secondary Job Duties That May be Reassigned:

1. Assists with ordering supplies for the department while being fiscally responsible.
2. Assists with maintaining the medical record.
3. Greets and assists guests to provide information and access to appropriate resources.
4. Answers phones, call lights, and alters in an efficient fashion.
5. Assists with stocking of supplies and maintaining cleanliness throughout the unit and hospital.
6. Performs other duties as assigned or requested

Job Specifications:

• Education: High school graduate, GED and currently enrolled in the final year of an accredited school of nursing
• Experience: Maintain GPA 2.7 or better and proof of good standing in the school of nursing. Completion of SNE-Level I is preferred, but not required.
