Catholic Diocese of Sioux Falls is Hiring a Natural Family Planning Coordinator Near Sioux Falls, SD

The Catholic Diocese of Sioux Falls is seeking a life-long Catholic missionary disciple to serve as the diocesan point of contact in identifying and promoting Natural Family Planning instructors and physicians to clergy and couples. The NFP Coordinator will have a passion for championing the goodness and beautiy of Natural Family Planning and have a deep understanding of the blessing it is for families in their desire to follow the vision of lifelong Catholic missionary discipleship through God's love.

This is position is part-time and is overseen by the Director of Lay and Clergy Formation. Interested candidates should submit a resume and cover letter to Twila Roman, Director of Human Resources at troman@sfcatholic.org.

 Essential Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Foster and bolster a network of relationships with NFP instructors throughout the Diocese.
  • Manage and administer the NFP scholarship program.
  • Promote NFP resources through existing communication channels.
  • Increase the awareness of NFP in the Diocese for clergy and engaged couples.
  • Support clergy in connecting couples to NFP resources.
  • Serve as Diocesan point of contact for NFP instructors and physicians.
  • Maintain database of NFP instructors.
  • Update and ensure accuracy of Diocesan NFP website information.

Essential Qualifications:

Primary: 

  • Willingness and ability to act as a personal witness to the Catholic faith and religion by living both one’s professional and personal life in accordance with the doctrines and moral teachings of the Roman Catholic Church, as embodied in the various documents of the Roman Catholic Church, including, without limitation, the Catechism of the Roman Catholic Church
  • Ability to articulate the Church’s teaching on sacramental marriage and theology of the body.
  • Extensive knowledge on various methods of NFP
  • Ability to promote and endorse varying methods of NFP.
  • Strong pastoral skills to accompany individuals/couples seeking to adhere to the Church’s teaching.

Education:

  • Instructor level training in one or more NFP methods
  • Bachelor’s degree preferred.

Experience:

  • Experience and proven effectiveness with fostering collaboration among volunteers and/or professionals.

Required Knowledge, Skills and Abilities:

  • Familiarity with or willingness and aptitude to learn a variety of digital platforms including OSB, Adobe Creative Suite, Google Suite, Notion, Zoom and Teachable.
  • An understanding and working knowledge of all desktop applications included in Microsoft Office Suite and various web applications.
  • Ability to work independently and in a team-oriented, collaborative environment to think strategically, multitask, and conform to shifting priorities, demands, and timelines.
  • Proven communication skills, and ability to work effectively with a wide range of individuals while maintaining strict confidentiality.
  • Proven organizational skills and attention to detail when dealing with filing systems, processes, event planning and office scheduling.

  • Ability to push, pull, lift and carry items up to 30 pounds.

  • Ability to work in an office setting as wells as various venues according to event or activity.
  • Vision abilities required include close vision, depth perception and the ability to adjust focus.

Work Environment:

The employee will work with many individuals, often requiring multitasking and working with deadlines and details to ensure all of the essential functions are performed in a timely and courteous manner. This position will involve 20 to 25 hours per month with the possibility of remote work. Occasional weekend and evening working hours may be required along with rare travel expectations.
