JOB SUMMARY
The Personal Care Aide is directly accountable to the RN Homecare Nursing Supervisor or appropriate designee. He/she is to receive close and regular supervision on all assignments. The Personal Care Aide is expected to carry out routine assignments independently within the Agency's program and procedures and within his/her scope of responsibility.
MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS
Education/Experience: High school diploma or equivalent.
Must have a valid driver's license. CPR certification. Homecare experience preferred, but not required.
Must be able to work effectively in a team environment.
Must meet a standardized set of competencies for the specific position description established by PHS before working independently. Immunizations: Must be medically cleared for communicable diseases and have all immunizations up-to-date prior to beginning employment.

Must be able to provide aid and services to people of all ages, including geriatrics
PHYSICAL DEMANDS/ WORKING CONDITIONS
While performing the duties of this job, the employee is required to travel to patient's homes and nursing care facilities, and other sites. The employee may be in close contact with individuals who have infectious diseases. While performing the duties of this job, the employee is required to talk, and hear. The employee is often required to use their hands to handle, lift, and feel. The employee may be required to lift more than 25 pounds, stand often stoop, or kneel.
