The University of St. Thomas invites qualified candidates to apply for a RN Supplemental Instruction Specialist position within the School of Nursing.
This is an on-call position that will work on an as-needed basis.
The recruitment for this position will be on-going and application review will be conducted quarterly.

JOB SUMMARY
The RN Supplemental Instruction Specialist in the School of Nursing provides supplemental instruction in didactic and laboratory settings to help facilitate student success and support students in reaching their goal of becoming a RN. Under faculty oversight, successful candidates will develop supplemental learning materials to support and facilitate achievement of course learning objectives.
ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS
Assists course faculty to provide structured supplemental instruction programming in designated courses, including open lab periods.
Under faculty oversight, develops supplemental materials (interactive group actives, practice problems, gamified quizzes, reflective exercises, demonstrations) designed to reinforce class content in course-linked study sessions to help students apply nursing concepts and develop critical thinking and clinical judgement skills, including preparation for exams. think critically about course content and how it applies on exams, in the laboratory, and clinical sites.
At the request of the Student Success Director, provides individualized instruction for students remediating NCLEX preparatory examinations.
Participates in training activities to develop skills and remain up to date on School of Nursing,
campus and community resources. Reviews assessment data with the Student Success Director and faculty in order to provide input on needs/ideas for continuous quality improvement of student experiences.
Refers students to other support services when appropriate.
Maintains accurate records of supplemental instruction services and data for program assessment.
