Texas Ale Project has been brewing fine craft ales and lagers since 2014. Job Overview

This hourly part-time Packaging Technician role is a great introduction to the brewery operations for individuals passionate about producing high quality, consistent beers. Key responsibilities of the role are listed below, but this position will also have exposure to cellarwork and brewing as the individual progresses. We’re a small team and wear many hats. Hours per week can vary based on demand.

Responsibilities:

  • Reporting to the Brewer / Cellarman, this role focuses on finishing and prepping beer for sale
  • Canning, kegging, and labeling beer with high accuracy and attention to quality
  • Keg washing, warehousing, cleaning equipment and environment, mechanical maintenance on the canning line
  • Maintenance and clean draft lines onsite and elsewhere (occasionally)
  • Accurately follow SOP’s (Standard Operating Procedures)
  • A demonstrated ability to effectively communicate in a cross-functional team, including production team to plan and manage production of product
  • Operate manual and automated equipment while maintaining quality standards
  • Operate forklifts
  • Routine cleaning of packaging, brewing and cellar equipment
  • Be a team player
  • Performs other production related duties as asked with a positive attitude
  • Opportunity to advance once abilities are demonstrated

Qualifications and Requirements:

Education:

  • 4-year degree preferred; High School Diploma required
  • Forklift training and previous safety training

Minimum Work Experience:

  • Previous brewing and/or packaging experience highly preferred

Skills & Capabilities:

  • Very mechanically inclined
  • Forklift training certification required
  • Problem solver
  • Must have high attention to detail and cleanliness
  • Knowledge of brewery operations and specific beer process terminologies highly preferred
  • Proficient in using a computer including MS Office (Excel and Word) and packaging data entry
  • Comfortable working with hot water, chemicals and maintaining strict adherence to safety standards
  • Ability to work a variable shift schedule as needed, which may require 10-hour days
  • Clear vision and hearing are important to perform job duties safely
  • Ability to stand for long periods of time and frequently reach, twist, stoop, crouch, stand and walk during shift
  • Must be able to lift up to 75 lbs
