Non-Emergency Medical Transportation Driver
Reports to Director of Clinical Facilities
The purpose of this position is to provide the transportation of patients/clients to and from clinic appointments and their private residences in a safe, secure, and professional manner.
MINIMUM REQUIREMENTS:
·Current CDL licensure is preferred; Valid Mississippi driver’s license and driving record free of any moving violations in the last three years
·Must have current automobile insurance documentation
·Minimum of 1-3 years of transportation experience preferred
·Understand and follow applicable federal and Mississippi State laws and regulations, professional standards, and ethical principles; comply with policies to ensure patient/client safety and protect patient/client privacy and security
·CPR/First aid certified at time of hire or achieve certification within 30 days from date of hire
·Employment is conditional upon the results of the following:
oDMV check
oBackground check
oPhysical exam
oDrug screen
·Good written and oral communication skills and basic math skills
·Ability to maintain schedules while meeting individual needs of patients/clients
·Physical capability, strength, and coordination adequate to drive a 15-passenger van
·Ability to make intermediate level decisions needed to adhere to safety and scheduling considerations
·Must be able to lift 50-75 lbs.
·Ability to follow GPS and use maps accurately
·Maintain patient/client privacy by complying with HIPPAA policies
RESPONSIBILITIES:
·Communicate in a timely manner with patients/clients, especially in the case of unforeseen changes
·Safely help patients/clients in and out of vehicle and transport patients to and from appointments
·Ensure that all passengers wear seatbelts
·Perform a complete visual safety check of the vehicle driven on a daily basis, completing a daily pre and post trip checklists
·Keep the interior of the vehicle clean daily and vehicle exterior as needed
·Report any needed repairs to supervisor in a timely manner
·Record mileage and gas
·Pick up supplies as needed
·Other duties as requested
