Sequoia Living is Hiring a School Site Coordinator Near San Francisco, CA

We are hiring a School Site Coordinator to join our growing team. You will be responsible for managing the day-to-day operations of Experience Corps Bay Area (ECBA) at one or more schools in San Francisco. Responsible for the placement and support of volunteer tutors at assigned school(s). Develops and maintains school-based relationships to support program goals. What You Will Do:
  • Supports Volunteers and Schools in the implementation of Sequoia Living ECBA Structured Tutoring Session. Meets and interviews volunteers to ensure proper fit to ECBA Structured Tutoring program. Conducts a school site tour for volunteers.
  • Places, monitors, and supports volunteer assignments and one-on-one tutoring matches. Maintains related records and regularly updates volunteer information and service hours in Salesforce database.
  • Conducts day to day coaching support to volunteers when needed.
  • Promotes positive messaging of ECBA Structure Tutoring Program to volunteers and community.
  • Ensures materials are stocked and available at each school site for the volunteers’ use. Follows proper procedure to order ECBA materials needed with supervisor final approval.
  • Ensures success and sustainability of one-on-one tutoring matches through ongoing communication with teachers and member check-ins. Tracks, communicates, and records changes in placement, match, or dosage.
  • Assists Program Supervisor in planning and facilitating team meetings for problem solving, recognition, team-building, and continued education. Consistently communicates with the team to act as a resource for volunteers, teacher, and student needs.
  • Assists in the development, promotion and implementation of volunteer and teacher recognition programs.
  • Develops and maintains effective relationships with volunteers, community organizations, and school faculty. Promotes program visibility and collaborates effectively with school faculty, PTA, and organizations serving the schools.
  • Disseminates, collects, and inputs student, teacher, and volunteer evaluations and data into Salesforce. Reviews, analyzes, and affirms accuracy of data prior to processing in a timely manner. Obtains and ensures confidentiality of student test data for purposes of assessing program impact. Reviews and documents performance of tutors 3X per year.
  • Meets monthly with ECBA staff to support program goals, address challenges, define best practices, develop program wide projects, and ensure staff is working as a team.
  • Meets occasionally with Experience Corps Bay Area staff to share best practices.
  • Assists with onboarding new site coordinators when hired. Mentors and demonstrates best practices and protocols.
  • Performs other work as assigned.

Who You Are:
  • You enjoy working with people and have exceptional interpersonal skills. You can use tact and courtesy in dealing with residents under sometimes trying conditions. You can show patience and understanding. You enjoy variety in your day and enjoy a fast-paced environment.
  • Knowledge of Marin County nonprofit community, senior services, and school environments. Knowledge and understanding of volunteer supervision.
  • High School graduate or equivalent. Bachelor’s degree in Social Services, Education, Gerontology, or Organizational Behavior preferred. Minimum of one (1) year experience working with children and seniors in an institutional, recreational, or volunteer services agency. Minimum of two (2) years of progressive experience in volunteer management. Bilingual in English and Spanish preferred. California driver license, proof of insurance, clean driving record, and ability to travel to multiple locations on a daily basis.
