University of Kansas is Hiring a Remote Associate Researcher (Part-Time)
Position Overview
The Associate Researcher will work in collaboration with the center director and will have considerable latitude in day-to-day activities. Responsibilities will include designing, leading, and conducting research studies, monitoring progress and evaluating results. May serve as PI or co-PI on smaller research studies, and will co-author scholarly publications, presentations, and research reports. Will collaborate with team members to manage project implementation, budgets, grants and administrative activities for a cross-disciplinary research project.
In this remote position, the associate researcher will be responsible for coordinating efforts of the research team, facilitating communication, and ensuring that timelines are maintained.
This is a part-time, 20 hours per week position and is contingent on funding. Funding is currently secured until June 30, 2024 and additional funds are being sough for the position to continue indefinitely.
Job Description
- Managing project implementation, coordinating data collection and screening to verify data.
- Identifying problems, recommends and implements solutions.
- Training other researchers as needed.
- Implementing research methodology, conduct data analysis, and interpret results using quantitative data analysis software such as SPSS or R as well as Qualitative Analysis Software such as NVivo, Dedoose or MaxQDA.
- Consulting with others to refine or adapt methodologies to fit research requirements.
- Coordinating data collection and screening to verify data.
- Designing, leading, and conducting small research studies.
- Oversees daily operations of research setting, including administrative tasks such as budget tracking, grant reporting and other duties as assigned and may supervise students or staff in the future.
Position Requirements
Required Qualifications
- Master's degree.
- Three years of research experience.
- Background and experience in Montessori education or other alternative, learner agency supportive pedagogies such as Reggio Emilia, Waldorf, International Baccalaureate, or Project Based Learning.
Preferred Qualifications
- A doctorate or highest professional degree (including JD, MD, or international equivalents) or within 18 months of completing such degree.
- Record of peer reviewed publications in the field, professional conference presentations, and classroom experience strongly preferred.
- Grant writing experience and a Montessori background is a plus
