ROLE 
Under general supervision, provides recordkeeping, basic customer service and administrative support at truck scales and in office. 

ESSENTIAL RESPONSIBILITIES OF - WEIGHMASTER
• Directs trucks to scale and records full and empty weights. • Calculates and collects fees and records charges. • Compiles record of inbound and outbound material weights by category (such as recyclables). • Performs data entry of types of commodities (e.g., green waste, recycled) on loads brought in by trucks; records material weights by category. • Inspects and ensures validity of loads. • Monitors truck radio; responds in case of emergency or problem. • Performs varied office tasks as needed. • May be required to calculate payment to customers for recycled materials. • For sites that accept hazardous waste materials: • Ensures that all materials being accepted are appropriate given stated standards. • Other duties as assigned

QUALIFICATIONS 
Any combination of education and experience that would likely provide the required knowledge, skills and abilities is qualifying. A typical way to qualify is:• High School Diploma or GED preferred. • One year of related experience in office or public contact work. • For positions required to operate loaders or other small equipment, experience in operation and maintenance of similar equipment. • For positions which will operate loaders or other small equipment, commercial driver’s license is preferred. • Valid Class “C” driver’s license.
