Job Title: Class A Shuttle Driver Part TIme Department: Shipping
Reports To: Shipping Manager Direct Reports: None
Job Location: Zanesville, OH Job Level: Hourly
Position Summary:
Operates tractor-trailer truck; maintains telephone contact with supervisor or dispatcher for delivery instructions, transports product, off loads, records, and collects proper logs and documentation. Ensures tractor-trailer truck operation and equipment adhere to Company procedures and government regulations. Operates vehicles at both Airport Road and East Pointe Drive (Zanesville) facilities. Will typically work M-F five hours each day. Sometimes Saturday.
Key Job Responsibilities:
- Drive company equipment as needed:
o Tractor trailer combo
o Straight truck
o Pickup truck
- Shuttle product between facilities.
- Shuttle trays and/or pallets between facilities.
- Shuttle empty/loaded trailers and/or straight trucks between facilities.
- Shuttle trailers/tractors/straight trucks to vendors for repair.
- Plug in tractors and/or straight trucks as needed due to temperature/weather conditions.
- Perform Yard check:
o Check trailers in yard and monitor units needed for outbound schedule.
o Count trays for production schedule needs.
o Count pallets for production schedule needs.
o Monitor broken tray inventory and schedule pickup as needed.
- Inspect Equipment:
o Inspect trailers for defects/damages that affect outbound schedule.
o Start reefer units and monitor for proper operation.
o Monitor fuel levels in reefer units to ensure proper operation.
o Check lift gate units and monitor for proper operation.
o Request service as needed.
o Report defects as needed.
- Monitor Fuel Tank level:
o Inspect fuel tank fuel level.
o Log fuel dispensing.
o Request fuel tank fill service as needed.

Key Behavioral Competencies:
Knowledge of Federal motor carrier safety regulations, duty recording devices, computerized alarm systems, wheeled dollies, rack hooks, map reading, and general truck repair. Lifting 75 lbs, pushing/pulling and moving objects weighing up to 100 lbs.
Education and Work History:
Tractor trailer truck driving experience and valid "Class A" commercial driver's license. Physical examination required every 2 years.
