JOB PURPOSE
The Midwestern Campus is a source of great pride for those attending and/or working in and around the facilities. The Maintenance Technician is responsible for performing routine building maintenance tasks in one or more fields (e.g. carpentry, electrical, heating, ventilation, and air conditioning (HVAC), plumbing, etc.) for the preservation and upkeep of the buildings and campus grounds. The position may be required to perform general cleaning and other tasks as assigned. In addition, the technicians may be required to assist other departments as determined by the Director of Campus Operations.
ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS
Maintaining all building systems, including electrical, lighting, HVAC, plumbing and others as needed or as assigned. Knowledge of plumbing, electrical, HVAC and construction are helpful but not required. We are willing to train someone who is willing to work and be a part of a team.
Duties may include, however are not limited to:
Repair, maintain/monitor all equipment and amenities
Clean windows and glass doors
Prepare classrooms for incoming classes; remove or rearrange furniture for events or classes, as needed
Change light ballasts and/or light bulbs, interior and exterior, as needed
Make ready all public use areas, conference rooms, offices, and Chapel as needed.
Assist with maintenance of exterior property, including snow removal
Assist with all show installs/removals
Electrical, plumbing, HVAC repairs as necessary
Complete assigned work orders by performing general building maintenance and repairs
Complete preventative maintenance on equipment and premises
Assist in stocking, unloading and delivery of supplies
Maintain clean work environment
Equipment repair and maintenance
Assist vendors during preventative maintenance or repair
Perform other reasonable tasks as assigned
Perform other work related duties as assigned
May be required to work flexible hours
QUALIFICATIONS
Christian with high integrity, currently pursuing a relationship with God
High school diploma or equivalent
Able to follow directions, work independently, problem-solve, make decisions and meet deadlines
Detailed oriented
Able to multi-task and prioritize based on daily needs of the campus
Excellent communication skills
Basic knowledge of building systems and/or construction is helpful, but not required
You MUST be comfortable on a ladder, around heights and around equipment
Must have a valid Drivers License
Must be able to pass a background screening, including driving record
Must be a team player and committed to working in a quality environment
PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS AND WORKING CONDITIONS
Able to push/lift 75 pounds
Able to climb ladders
Able to bend at waist, sit, kneel, climb, walk, crouch as job may require
Able to work in extreme temperatures
Work in high noise levels requiring hearing protection
Work around lubricants, solvents, batteries, cleaning fluids, paint
