Overview: 

This position will be responsible for assisting with individual and group activities for residents and assisting in the planning and implementation of recreational, social, intellectual, emotional, and spiritual programs under the supervision of the Life Enhancement Director. This is a part time position requiring evening availability and every other weekend. 

Job Description: 

• Assisting the Life Enhancement Director with the overall direction, coordination, and evaluation of the Life Enhancement department and planning and performing regularly scheduled activities.
• Assisting in developing monthly calendar of events and posting of all activities.
• Conducting group activities including, but not limited to; games, exercise, sing-along, book club, Bible study, baking, etc.
• Assisting and promoting residents to participate in activities for maximum benefit of the event.
• Visiting with residents on a one-on-one basis for increased socialization.
• Assisting with completion of Activity Interview upon Admission and thereafter.
• Obtaining photo of new residents for display outside of resident room and in electronic medical record for identification.
• Directing and assisting speakers, entertainers, etc., with set up for events.
• Participating in and accompanying residents in outings as assigned by the Life Enhancement Director.
• Maintaining all areas for activities within the community in a safe and neat manner.
• Assisting in maintaining an acceptable level of inventory to perform all activities.
• Assisting in planning, coordinating, and helping implement decoration of the community for special events, seasons, and holidays.
• Assisting volunteers as needed.
• Completing all tasks and functions while maintaining a high level of resident safety.
• Assisting fellow team members in maintaining a clean, homelike environment that is free from hazards by tidying up spaces, cleaning up after residents, and ensuring that they always look presentable.
• Presenting professional appearance/dress.
• Showing up for work on time and following the appropriate call-in procedure when necessary.
• Maintaining a positive attitude which supports team performance and productivity.
• Completing proper documentation in electronic medical record.
• Attending all mandatory staff in-services.
• Completing other assigned tasks and activities as directed by the Life Enhancement Director.
• Following rules and regulations outlined in DHS 83 and CSL Policies and Procedures that are not specifically outlined above.

Qualifications: 

• High School Diploma or GED.

• Must be 18 years of age or older
• Experience in a CBRF, Nursing Home or Long-Term Care setting is required.
• CBRF Registry, CPR/AED certified, and Alzheimer’s/Dementia care experience preferred, but not required.
