Advanced Nursing & Home Support is Hiring an Assistant Director of Nursing Near Derwood, MD

Summary of Job Responsibilities: Under the supervision of the Director of Nursing the Home Care RN Supervisor is responsible for providing assessment and oversight of care planning for Private Duty clients; assisting the Director with program supervision, coordination and oversight; providing resolution of client and caregiver matters and providing oversight for skilled nursing services. The Home Care RN Supervisor understands the mission and goals of Advanced Nursing and Home Care and works to meet Agency standards for performance, as well as service and budget goals.

Responsibilities and Duties

Supervision, Coordination and Program Oversight

1. In the role of RN Home Care Supervisor, ensures compliance with Licensed Care and Private Duty policies and procedures.

2. Understand and implement RSA and COMAR regulations and incident reporting.

3. Assists the DON in resolution of client and caregiver matters in all areas.

4. Participates in the orientation, training, and continuing education of home care aides.

5. Possesses the ability to teach and train home care aides independently and with others.

6. Works with Sales and Marketing to promote our services.

Licensed Care Services

1. Provides professional nursing care by utilizing all elements of the nursing process for Licensed Skilled Care clients. Assesses and evaluates client’s status and revises plan of care as necessary. Discusses changes with the client or family/caregiver and reports changes, as necessary, to the attending physician.

2. Able to administer medications and treatments as prescribed by the physician.

3. Initiates communication regarding client care with the physician and supervisory personnel.

4. Completes, maintains and submits accurate and relevant clinical notes regarding client’s condition and care given.

5. Recommends appropriate level of care.

6. When needed, provides medication, diet and other instructional opportunities for clients, families and caregivers.

7. Supervises and delegates responsibilities when required.

Private Duty Services

1. Performs the initial home care assessment in the client’s home. When requested, arrange for a pre-discharge facility assessment.

2. Can explain all home care service policies to the client, including rates of service, billing options, agreement contract and HIPAA Privacy

3. Based on the needs assessment and in conjunction with the client/family, completes an individualized Care Plan.

4. Able to complete all initial client paperwork and initiate the Clients onboarding process.

5. Coordinates home care services and care plan implementation with the staffing team.

Customer Satisfaction, Community Outreach

1. Works cooperatively and flexibly with other staff to ensure that clients’ needs are met.

2. Addresses clients’ questions/concerns, to ensure customer satisfaction.

3. Promotes private duty home care through regular community contacts and follow-up with referral sources.

4. Participates in marketing and community outreach activities as requested.

Other

1. Assumes responsibility for personal growth and development and maintains and upgrades professional knowledge and practice skills through attendance and participation in continuing education and in-service classes.

2. Complies with accepted professional standards and principles.

3. Meets Agency standards for performance and complies with ANHC Policy and Procedures Manual.

4. Strong desire to grow into a leadership position within the company.

Job Qualifications

1. Graduate of an accredited school of Nursing. BSN preferred.

2. Currently licensed as a registered nurse in Maryland (and DC a plus), with no previous disciplinary measures

3. Current BLS Certification. CPR instructor a plus.

4. Has at least 5 years of general nursing experience and 2 years of home care/health experience. Teaching a plus.

5. Possesses and maintains good physical stamina and mental health.

6. Must be a licensed driver with a clean driving record and an automobile that is insured in accordance with state and/or Organization requirements and is in good working order.

7. Must live within 45 min driving time of the home office.

8. Must be willing to travel throughout the DMV to see clients and work from the home office when not in the field.

9. Possesses excellent observation, good nursing judgment, and good oral and written communication skills.

10. Is self-directed with the ability to work with little supervision; has good organizational skills.

11. Is flexible and cooperative in fulfilling role obligation.

12. Possesses a strong commitment to providing responsive services to the community and ability to establish excellent rapport with client’s staff and community workers.

13. Has a strong service orientation and ability to work well with people.

14. Proven ability to use the computer, including Microsoft Office and database programs.

15. Ability to work in a fast-paced environment independently and as part of a working group.

Physical Demands

The physical demands described below are representative of those that must be met by an employee to successfully perform the essential functions of this job.

· Good body mechanics in the area of lifting, carrying, bending, stooping, pushing or pulling.

· Walking, standing, twisting and bending for brief periods of time.

· Required to ascend/descend stairs.

· Ability to lift and carry up to 10 pounds.

· Regular driving of an automobile.

· Regular use of hands requires dexterity in using the telephone, computer keyboard, mouse or calculator.

· Visual ability to read documents and computer monitor.

· Regularly required to talk and hear.

Job Type: Part-time

Pay: $65,000.00 - $105,000.00 per year

Expected hours: 40 per week
