What You Will Do

As ERP Technical Services Manager guide a Team of SAP Basis Architects, SAP Basis Administrators, SAP Security Architects, DBA’s and UNIX Admins, while closely coordinating with other Infrastructure resources to drive SAP strategies for RTX Corporate’s multiple, complex SAP landscapes, both on-prem and cloud-based.

Interact with IT Management & Staff, Project Managers, key Functional SME’s & developers to ensure optimum system availability, reliability, performance and security; working closely with SAP Basis & Security, UNIX/Linux System Admins, DBA’s, Storage Admins, VMware Admins, Network/Firewall Admins, and Backup/Recovery Admins.

This leader is a go-to working resource critical to our new SAP Project work, as well as our continuing Operational Readiness. Deep SAP

Key Responsibilities include:

  • Provides strategic direction and technical leadership for a large, complex, highly integrated SAP environment (SAP ECC, BW-HANA, GTS, CRM, SRM, PI, SLT, BCS, Fiori, Solution Manager/SLD, CUA/IdM, S/4 HANA, MDG, Ariba etc.).
  • Drives the innovation and continuous improvement in all SAP Solutions at Raytheon; understands the impact/implications of proposed changes and defines our response.
  • Manages and/or actively works installations / upgrades / patches, tuning & optimization, support, and further developments of SAP system landscapes on-premise and in the cloud, along with our Sr Basis Architects on-staff.
  • Provides or directs the input for technical descriptions, diagrams, and detailed steps required for project planning.
  • Ensures repeatable processes (such as SAP kernel patches, Hot Note deployments, system refreshes, maintenance task lists, etc.), are clearly documented in accordance with Raytheon procedures and followed for deployment across the landscape by our Run and Maintain admins.
  • Coordinates closely with Infrastructure resources to ensure all SAP requirements are met, optimizing our system availability, reliability, performance and security; works closely with RTX Cybersecurity to ensure compliance.
  • Manages ERP Tech Services and our SAP landscapes to be continuously compliant with all internal & external audit requirements; delegates responsibilities as necessary to ensure continuous collection of required evidence, and all required reporting. Successfully passes all audits.
  • Serves as a resource for our team of SAP Basis Architects and Administrators in all aspects of SAP Basis, providing oversight regarding both the strategic and ongoing configuration of large SAP systems.
  • Ensures on-call Escalation Resources 24x7 for critical Raytheon SAP systems are designated, providing the highest possible system availability; ensures immediate response & escalation as appropriate to remediate Production issues.
  • Keeps abreast of changing SAP software, solutions and technologies; able to adapt quickly as Raytheon implements latest SAP technology.
  • Provides input to all SAP Basis related policies, procedures, controls, and best practices.
  • Responsible for the ‘people’ and technical management of the ERP Technical Support team; works / assists with the development of team members, agreeing on individual targets and conducting reviews & appraisals.
  • Central contact person for all inquiries in the area of SAP Basis
  • Prioritization of tasks within the team
  • Workload coordination and close collaboration with other departments to ensure projects meet agreed requirements and expectations.
  • Reporting to the management

Qualifications You Must Have:

  • Typically a minimum of 12 years’ experience in the SAP arena plus a Bachelor’s Degree or equivalent combination of related work experience and schooling in lieu of degree; Advanced degree and 10 year’s related work experience.
  • Experience with SAP Technology, Hardware, OS, DBMS, Network, Backup/Restore, High Availability, and Monitoring technology; ability to lead members of our ERP Technical Services Team and influence Functional Teams & developers.
  • Multiple complete life cycle SAP implementations.
  • Experience with the SAP Upgrade Process.
  • Exposure in SAP Security Administration; able to support our SAP Security Admin Team with problems or issues.
  • U.S. citizenship is required, as only U.S. citizens are authorized to access information under this program/contract

Qualifications We Prefer:

  • A&D industry experience is preferred.
  • Additional previous experience as a UNIX/Linux Sys Admin, DBA, Developer, etc.
  • SAP S/4 & HANA experience.
  • Experience hosting SAP systems on AWS or Azure cloud platforms.
  • Experience with Single Sign-On/LDAP technology with SAP ECC and SAP Portal.
  • Understanding of government contracting processes and regulations.
  • Understanding of ABAP programming language.
  • SAFe certification
  • SAP Basis certifications.
  • Excellent Project Management and oral and written communication skills; able to advise and influence Management from the Basis perspective on the appropriate steps to successful implementations.
  • Exercises good judgment in managing a queue of both Support and Project work, including current status reporting to management;
  • Familiarity/experience with successfully meeting corporate Audit requirements including Sarbanes-Oxley, general computing controls, and access controls;
  • Advanced Degree

Required Education:

Typically a Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Technology, Engineering or Mathematics (STEM) or related discipline or equivalent combination of related work experience and schooling in lieu of degree.

The salary range for this role is 143,000 USD - 287,000 USD. The salary range provided is a good faith estimate representative of all experience levels.
