Sr. Development Engineer - Talend

Overview

Our client has a focus of covering the news at Colleges and Universities. They are a leader in higher education journalism serving their readers with real-time news and deep insights. They also supply their readers with tools, career opportunities, and knowledge to succeed in the changing world of Journalism for Colleges and Universities.

Our client is seeking a Senior Engineer to help with a major change to their current technology stack. The correct candidate has great hands on skills, a solid architectural understanding of large implementations, and the patience to help a company move from a legacy platform to a new environment.

We are looking for candidates that have:

• Strong Java experience, with knowledge and experience in other languages as well.
• Experience with Talend and/or Mulesoft.
• Experience with Apache Camel.
• Experience with design and implementation of Microservices in a distributed event driven architecture.
• Experience reverse engineering and analyzing existing solutions to recommend new architecture.
• Experience with building Microservices in a Cloud agnostic architecture, leveraging containers, Kubernetes, etc

Minimum Requirements:

• Degree in CS, IT; Or equivalent combination of education, skills, and experience.
• 8 years experience in Systems/Software/Data development.
• 3 years experience with Talend and or Mulesoft.
• 3 years of experience with Java, Microservices.
• Prior experience in migration of services to cloud implementation.
• Demonstrate business and technology acumen.
• Passionate about building a culture of innovation, automation and excellence.

This is a long term contract engagement. The initial contract will be 3-6 months, with likely extensions as the project proceeds. The targeted compensation for this position is between $100-$125/hr. Their offices are located in Washington DC. We would prefer local candidates who could come into the office occasionally but would except well qualified remote candidates.
