Pharmacists Mutual Insurance Company is Hiring a Remote Marketing Communications Specialist

Pharmacists Mutual Insurance has an opening for a Marketing Communications Specialist. This role is a key member of a cross-functional team, contributing to the strength of the company's brand, visibility, and success in achieving the Company’s long term goals. The position is responsible for implementing and executing strategic marketing plans under the direction of the Director of Marketing in order to attract potential customers and retain existing ones. Strong collaboration and organizational skills are a must in order to thrive in our fast-paced environment. This position reports to theDirector of Marketing.

Marketing Communications Specialist II

  • Requires limited direction from manager.
  • Executes on midsize projects and tasks and has the knowledge and technical skill to carry out job duties and functions.

Senior Marketing Communications Specialist

  • Executes on more complex projects and tasks as assigned with little to no direction from manager.
  • Must demonstrate a history of high quality work and is capable of being a lead-by-example contributor to the department and team.
  • This position includes the roles of a trainer, mentor, coach, Company representative and visionary project team member.

Essential Functions

Essential functions may include, but are not limited to the following:

  • Manage a portfolio of traditional and digital marketing projects that support key communications and development priorities, both independently and as a member of a team.
  • Proven ability to manage multiple competing priorities under tight deadlines, within scope and budget.
  • Coordinates internal resources and third parties/vendors for the effective execution of projects.
  • Establishes and maintains relationships with all stake holders and third parties/vendors.
  • Creates and maintains comprehensive project documentation.
  • Manages corporate presence on the website and in social networking sites including Facebook, Twitter, LinkedIn, and relevant blogs.
  • Tracks, analyzes and measures the impact of traditional and digital projects in an effort to maximize results and ROI.
  • Manages the distribution of e-newsletters.
  • Supports the maintenance of the Company website content.
  • Drafts, assists, tracks, and follows-up with content for media releases, social media and other correspondences.

Knowledge, Skills and Abilities

  • Thorough knowledge of traditional and digital marketing platforms, general marketing principles, and practices.
  • Ability to thrive in a rapidly changing work environment, managing competing demands, and adjusting approach and / or methods to best fit emerging situations.
  • Acts on behalf of the company as a brand ambassador.
  • Ability to think creatively and innovatively.
  • Analytical skills to forecast and identify trends and challenges.
  • Familiarity with the latest trends, technologies and methodologies in graphic design, web design, production, etc.
  • Implement marketing strategy under the direction of the Director of Marketing.
  • Present oneself in a positive, professional manner.
  • Establish and maintain effective working relationships in a team environment while accomplishing goals and objectives.
  • Ability to work independently to make critical decisions and analyze complex issues.
  • Obtain and utilize sensitive information discreetly and objectively.
  • Proficient using Microsoft Office products.
  • Ability to organize and prioritize work.
  • Correct English usage, spelling, grammar, vocabulary and punctuation.
  • Determine when and how to escalate concerns to the appropriate level of management.

Experience and Education Qualifications

Marketing Communications Specialist II

  • High School Diploma or equivalent and 7 years of related experience; or
  • Associate's Degree or equivalent and 5 years of related experience; or
  • Bachelor's Degree and 3 years of related experience; or
  • Master's Degree

Senior Marketing Communications Specialist

  • High School Diploma or equivalent and 10 years of related experience; or
  • Associate’s Degree or equivalent and 8 years of related experience; and
  • One of the following industry related certifications: Professional Certified Marketer (PCM), Digital Marketer, or Project Management Professional (PMP)

OR

  • Bachelor’s Degree and 5 years of related experience; or
  • Master’s Degree and 2 years of related experience

Special Requirements, Licenses and Certificates

Senior Marketing Communications Specialist

  • Experience with project management technology such as Asana, Basecamp, or Confluence/Jira
  • Experience with Adobe Creative Suite
  • Experience with marketing automation software such as HubSpot, SharpSpring, Marketing Cloud, or Marketo
  • Experience with a CRM program such as HubSpot, Sales Force, or Oracle
  • Experience with WordPress

Preferred Qualifications

Marketing Communications Specialist I and II

  • Experience with project management technology such as Asana, Basecamp, or Confluence/Jira
  • Experience with Adobe Creative Suite
  • Experience with marketing automation software such as HubSpot, SharpSpring, Marketing Cloud, or Marketo

  • Vision sufficient with correction to read small print in communications, policies and on the computer screen
  • Hearing or other means sufficient to understand conversations in person and over the telephone
  • Speech sufficient to make oneself heard in person and over the telephone
  • Mobility sufficient to move around in an office setting
  • Dexterity sufficient to operate standard office equipment
  • Strength sufficient to lift and carry routine office equipment weighing up to 30lbs.
  • Endurance sufficient to maintain productivity throughout entire shift

Work Environment

  • Primary work environment is in a climate-controlled office setting
  • Work may involve travel to attend meetings at other locations
  • Position may require working offsite during non-business hours and may involve travel to attend meetings at other locations
