GPTech is seeking a Junior Sustainable Energy Analyst: within the Sustainable Energy Practice Area to engage in various assignments supporting the use of sustainable energy technologies, including renewable energy, energy efficiency, advanced grid systems, and project and contract management support. This involves working with federal, state, and local clients.
The position is based in the Washington, DC, metro area and requires in-office presence two days per week. U.S. citizenship and the ability to pass a background investigation are required.
Responsibilities:
  • Research all aspects of project development and financing for proposed sustainable energy projects.
  • Prepare, review, and analyze sustainable energy project and market reports.
  • Conduct energy, environmental, and economic benefits analysis of sustainable energy technologies and projects.
  • Collect and analyze project and program information using Excel spreadsheets and analysis models.
  • Collect and analyze statistics and information related to sustainable energy technology and market trends.
  • Develop targeted communications (e.g., white papers, fact sheets, research summaries, briefings),
  • Facilitate project meetings and/or summarize proceedings.
  • Provide project management support, including coordination with the GPTech Practice Area lead and Finance & Administration staff, to fulfill corporate project and contract management process requirements.
  • Contribute to Practice Area growth and business development through creating and improving communications products and proposal documents and supporting business capture strategies.
  • Perform other related duties as assigned.
Qualifications:
  • U.S. Citizenship and ability to obtain and maintain a U.S. Government-issued security clearance
  • Bachelor’s degree in a relevant field (e.g., engineering, physical science, business management, program/project management)
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills
  • Excellent writing skills
  • Excellent verbal communications skills
  • Attention to detail and ability to perform multiple tasks and balance competing priorities effectively and efficiently, often within a required timeframe
  • Proficiency with software tools for research, analysis, reporting, communications, and collaboration (e.g., Microsoft 365 suite, including SharePoint, and Microsoft Power BI)
  • Ability to report to a physical job site in the Washington, DC, metro area at least two days per week
Preferred Qualifications:
  • Specific experience pertaining to sustainable energy technologies and applications
  • Specific experience related to economic analysis, project development, and/or project management
  • Experience working with state or federal government programs or on projects in developing countries
  • Certified Energy Manager or Engineer in Training
  • Proficiency in a language other than English, especially Spanish, French, or Portuguese
