South Texas Health System is Hiring a Remote REGIONAL ASST MANAGER CODING - STHS ROC - REMOTE - FT

Responsibilities:
POSITION SUMMARY:
Performs the functions of assisting the Regional Manager for Coding through leadership, oversight, direction, and guidance to the coding supervisors and coding staff for the South Texas Region. Responsible and accountable for DNFB management and IP/OP coding accuracy based on established expectations/goals, timeliness of coding to maintain unbilled at expected goals, and utilization of systems used to perform coding functions and identification of areas for improvement/education. Collaborates and works closely with facility HIM Directors, Central Business Office and communicates with hospital departments, physicians, and office practices to ensure accomplishment of UHS and multi-facility objectives for coding and management of unbilled expectations. South Texas facilities. Maintains relationship and collaboration with the Regional Director for South Texas Region, HIM management, local facilities, UHS corporate, Central Business Offices and Case Management teams. Responsible for coordination of meetings with ancillary departments regarding proper coding and accurate charge master items. Responsible and accountable for providing exceptional customer service.
Qualifications:
QUALIFICATIONS:
1. Three to Five years acute care inpatient coding experience required.
2. Auditing/training in medical coding (ICD10-CM, CPT and APC).
3. Two-Four years of management/supervisory position or leadership role.
4. Medical terminology, anatomy and physiology required.
5. Computer skills.
6. Ability to read medical reports, interpret lab values as pertinent to coding diagnoses, abstract pertinent
information from records and to provide meaningful information by telephone or letter in replying to
inquiries.
7. Must demonstrate commitment and adherence to STHS’s Compliance Program and Code of Conduct through compliance with all policies and procedures, the Code of Conduct, attendance at required training and immediately reporting suspected compliance issue(s) to the Compliance Officer.
EDUCATION / LICENSURE:
1. Associate Degree with RHIT Certification; or Bachelor’s Degree with RHIA Certification; or Certified Coding Specialist certification through AHIMA required
2. Able to travel between facilities within the South Texas/Central Region.
