BrightFarms is a national leader in the booming indoor farming industry, transforming how produce is grown and delivered with its expanding network of high-tech, sustainable hydroponic farms. We currently operate six high-tech greenhouse farms, with four new regional salad greenhouse hubs breaking ground to begin opening in 2024. BrightFarms' fresh lettuce options, from classic greens to crunchy mixes and salad kits, are available in more than 3,700 retail stores across the East Coast and Midwest.

The Marketing Innovation Co-op will support the growing needs of the innovation and marketing team at BrightFarms by executing meaningful projects and supporting daily tasks that help BrightFarms achieve our important business goals. Projects are aligned to BrightFarms explosive growth in the packaged salad category and the work of this position will help the organization effectively move product launches and new product development through stage gate. The marketing intern will be involved in time-sensitive market research, product launch support, data analytics and go-to-market strategy.

Specifically, you will:

  • Assist Director of Innovation in executing business critical activities to support product development and commercialization
  • Market Research: conduct comprehensive market research to identify trends, opportunities, portfolio gaps and customer insights for salad kits and packaged salad category
  • Lead product tastings for internal teams and leadership teams
  • Participate in weekly stage gate meetings and own follow through for commercial actions
  • Develop consumer research plan to support BrightFarms portfolio expansion
  • Develop financial forecasts and opportunity sizing for various projects in stage gate
  • Product launch support includes marketing collateral, execution of samples and partnering with marketing team to build digital and shopper launch plan(s)
  • Collaborate on daily basis with sales, R&D, procurement and internal business partners

Position location: Hybrid. 2 Days per week in Irvington, NY office, 3 days remote.
The ideal candidate:

  • Has an MBA candidate or recent graduate. 3-5 years of professional work experience
  • Creative and innovative – looks for creative solutions to solve problems and bring new ideas to the table
  • Strong sense of curiosity and genuinely consumer obsessed
  • Excellent analytical skills with ability to ascertain performance and make strategic recommendations
  • Extremely organized with high level of project management and attention to detail. You have the ability to manage and prioritize multiple projects, customer requests and external vendors professionally.
  • Market research experience
  • Strong business acumen and business application (knowledge of syndicated data, marketing and financial metrics, Microsoft Office Applications)
  • Growth mindset – ability to adapt and change strategy and leadership style as our rapidly growing business evolves
  • Open-mindedness and a positive “can-do” mindset
  • Self-starter and autonomous; a problem solver that searches for answers to challenges
  • Confidence in presenting ideas and recommendations in front of Senior Leadership
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
  • Ability to work collaboratively in a team and independently.
  • Passion for marketing and a desire to learn and grow in the field

**Compensation: $800/mo for undergraduate students, $1,480 for graduate students**
