QUALIFICATIONS

Must hold a Valid Michigan Teaching Certificate with NT endorsement or current School Counselor License
(SCL)

In addition, may hold a Certificate/License in Social Work, Psychology, or Counseling (LCSW, LLP, LP, or
LPC)

Thorough knowledge of MTSS and Social Emotional Learning.

Organized and able to manage multiple assignments within multiple buildings.

Ability to develop and implement positive behavior support systems.

Ability to lead teams in writing behavior intervention plans.

Ability to facilitate SEL lessons in classrooms and train staff.

Collaborate with staff and families.

Excellent verbal and written language skills.

Work cooperatively with building administrators to promote positive student behavior by
providing professional development that targets research, strategies and modeling of
instructional practices to support teachers in their implementation of positive behavior
support in their classrooms.

Continually supervise students to ensure a safe, non-threatening, nurturing environment
where students can thrive.

Engage parents in the “student behavior intervention plan” process and empower parents by providing them
with skills and techniques to support the positive behavior development of their child.

Conduct conflict resolution and peer mediation sessions.

Review behavior referrals and data reports.

Administer both standardized and informal assessments (observation, interviews, etc.).

Assist staff and families with crisis needs.

Work with graduation requirements and scheduling for high school students

Work with Director of K-12 Virtual and Remote Programming on scheduling, reporting requirements, and
communication with students and families.

Experience with students Pre-K-High School.

Must be CPI trained or willing to be CPI trained within 30 days of hire date and annually update CPI
certification.
