Lead Instructional Technology Facilitator and Digital Resources
Manager

Exempt
General Definition of Work

The Lead Instructional Technology Facilitator and Digital Resources Manager supports the work

of school-based ITFs and the use of instructional technologies to impact student achievement.

Qualification Requirements

Graduation from a four-year college with a degree in a related field and/or five-year experience

in a related field (preferred); or equivalent combination of education and experience.

Knowledge, Skills and Abilities

  • Provides leadership, staff development, and support to CCS ITFs and other

instructional/administrative staff

  • Responsible for developing district-wide professional development to support teaching

and learning

  • Serves as a liaison between school/district departments (C&I, Student Services, etc.) and

school-based implementation and support for administrators and teachers

  • Develops and offers district wide professional development to support the technical

implementation and use of digital platforms and resources to teachers/administrative

staff

  • Assists in the development and implementation of the district’s Strategic Plan and NC

Digital Learning Initiative

  • Provides instructional staff with the essential technical support needed to effectively

provide and manage digital-age instruction

  • Collaborates with appropriate instructional/technical staff to support, manage, optimize

the use of digital and network resources to support quality teaching and learning

  • Works independently and collaboratively with colleagues
  • Utilizes the NC Standard Course of Study provide coaching, feedback, and support to

CCS ITFs on lesson development and implementation

  • Provides training and support on classroom technology integration, blended and

personalized learning, hybrid teaching, remote learning, and similar instructional models

  • Ensures teachers are prepared to teach:

o Digital citizenship, data privacy, and cyber safety

o Digital-aged skills that enable students to be college and career ready

o Creation, collaboration, communication, and critical thinking skills

o Inquiry and design thinking learning opportunities

  • Ensures ITFs meet the standards set forth by NCDPI for NC Digital Learning Initiative

Lead Instructional Technology Facilitator and Digital Resources
Manager

  • Implementation support of digital tools and resources (ex, integrations, account

management, etc.)

  • Ability to lead team on major projects and deployments
  • In collaboration with CITO and directors, work with vendors to get quotes, initiate and

complete projects

  • Able to assess organizational goals, weigh options, and implement proactive cost-

effective solutions

  • Experience managing IT projects
  • Requires advanced use of Microsoft Office Suite
  • Advanced knowledge of computers and related technology devices
  • General aptitude for learning enterprise software applications
  • Ability to utilize oral and written communication effectively with end-users and staff
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills with emphasis in customer service,

including experience handling difficult customers and conflict resolution

  • Ability to identify issues that impact end users and follow through on resolving problems

Pay Grade 78

Reports to
Director of Instructional Technology & Innovation

Essential Functions

  • Responsible for project management related to technology deployments
  • Works closely with technology finance personnel to make sure all billing is accurate.
  • In conjunction with the Director of Instructional Technology & Innovation, facilitates monthly

ITF meetings

  • Articulates and supports the transition from traditional instruction to digital-age teaching and

learning standards for students, and digital learning competencies teachers and administrators

  • Provides guidance to help educators address privacy, security, copyright, and responsible use

issues

  • Prioritizes supports to ensure equity of devices, connectivity, infrastructure, and resources that

support digital learning for all students

  • Co-coordinates standards, review processes, and collaborative procurement for digital learning

resources. Standards address curriculum content, personalized learning approaches, effective

uses of technology, and technical requirements

  • Coordinates the technical implementation and management of district purchased/supported

digital tools

Lead Instructional Technology Facilitator and Digital Resources
Manager

  • Plans and implements job-embedded professional development and workshops for individuals,

small groups, and large groups

  • Coordinates system level technology professional development
  • Develops technical professional development materials and resources to promote clarity among

all stakeholders

  • Develops technical assistance documents for staff and families
  • Communicates upgrades and enhanced features of district purchased/supported digital tools to

stakeholders

  • Assists with technology training as part of collaborative school district staff development

initiatives and supports regional and statewide initiatives

  • Provides leadership in developing and implementing Digital Learning Plans
  • Serves as a resource to staff for technology trends, applications, and leadership practices

related to technology; collaborates and acts as a liaison to stakeholder groups

  • Collaborates with School Administrators, Instructional Technology Facilitators, Library Media

Specialists, and staff to ensure infrastructure and tools are available to support the Digital

Learning Plan

  • Conducts research about advancements in technology tools and resources to inform decision

making

  • Gathers and disseminates information (e.g., grants, policies, professional development

opportunities) relevant to digital learning

  • Participates in ongoing professional development related to job responsibilities and maintaining

expertise in the field

Physical Requirements

  • Requires the frequent exertion of up to 50 pounds of force.
  • Regularly requires standing, walking, speaking or hearing, using hands to finger, handle or feel,

climbing or balancing and reaching with hands and arms.

  • Frequently requires pushing or pulling and lifting.
  • Occasionally requires sitting and stooping, kneeling, crouching or crawling.
  • Requires ability to adjust focus, depth perception and color perception.
  • Vocal communication is required for expressing or exchanging ideas by use of the spoken word.
  • Hearing is required to perceive information at normal spoken word levels.
  • Requires preparing and analyzing written or computer data.
  • Requires visual inspection involving small defects and/or small parts.
  • Requires use of measuring devices.
  • May require assembly or fabrication of parts within arm’s length.
  • Must be able to operate machines, motor vehicles or equipment.
  • Frequently requires working in high, precarious places.
  • May be exposed to the risk of electrical shock.

  • Occasionally requires exposure to fumes, airborne particles and/or to outdoor weather

conditions.

  • Work is generally in a moderately noisy location (e.g. business office, light traffic).

Special Requirements

Valid North Carolina driver's license.
