We Are Looking to Add a Key Member to Our Data Team! A data operations specialist will provide front line support for both data platform stakeholders and the data platform engineering team. This role will be responsible for monitoring, troubleshooting and recurring support of the production data platform including triaging issues and providing break-fix operation support. This role will also serve as the Scrum Master for the Data Delivery agile team with a initial focus on Data Platform Engineering. The idea candidate will be passionate about improving the experience of data platform user community and the reliability and quality of the data housed therein. As a Data Operations Specialist, you will: Responsible for monitoring, troubleshooting, and support of the production data platform including triaging issues and providing break-fix operation support Serve as Scrum Master for the Data Delivery team with responsibilities including organizing and leading scrum ceremonies, removing impediments, and promoting collaboration across the team and the broader release train Ensure the quality of service to data platform stakeholders via interactions with help desk and direct stakeholder support and communication Analysis of available data to diagnose root cause of a problem Escalation and communication of issues to data platform product owner and engineers as needed Ensure recurring data imports/exports contain clean and appropriate data and run in a timely manner Perform updates to configuration tables on an as needed basis in support of recurring reporting Management of open data platform issues including providing stakeholders with progress updates Prepare extensive documentation when logging product issues including observations, diagnoses, and action steps Generate weekly reports summarizing production performance, release notes for upgrades, and troubleshooting guides Promote a data driven culture throughout GreatAmerica via active participation in a data champion community utilized for knowledge and best practice sharing To be successful in this role you will need: Experience Experience with SQL, preferable Microsoft SQL Server or ETL tools Experience working in an agile development environment required with experience in the role of a scrum master a plus Computer Skills Experience working with databases, specifically with Microsoft SQL Server using T-SQL Experience with Informatica or SSIS is a plus Experience with IT product management software such as Jira and Service Now a plus Exposure to data visualization tools such as Tableau, Power BI etc. is a plus Other Requirements Strong analytical and problem-solving skills Ability to work independently without direct supervision; proactive self-starter Enthusiastic attention to detail. Experience ensuring data quality across multiple datasets Experience writing technical documentation and how-tos for operational tasks Ability to acquire new skills quickly, and thrive in a collaborative team environment Must be able to establish and maintain professional working relationships with all levels of GreatAmerica personnel and external contacts Sharing rewards is an integral part of our culture.
