Luminator Technology Group is Hiring a Remote Cyber Engineer (Cloud Security)

Luminator Technology Group is seeking a full-time Cyber Engineer (Cloud Security) to enhance our cloud security team in Plano, Texas. This role is crucial for maintaining the security of our cloud-based platforms and infrastructure.

This includes managing access controls, data encryption, and conducting comprehensive security assessments to ensure the cloud infrastructure is secure and compliant with industry standards.

Essential Functions:

  • Cloud Service Models: Understanding of different cloud service models (IaaS, PaaS, SaaS) and deployment models (public, private, hybrid) to assess security implications and apply appropriate security controls.
  • Cloud Provider Knowledge: Familiarity with major cloud service providers (e.g., AWS, Azure, Google Cloud) and their respective security features, tools, and best practices for securing cloud environments.
  • Identity and Access Management (IAM): Proficiency in implementing and managing IAM solutions for controlling access to cloud resources, enforcing least privilege principles, and ensuring strong authentication and authorization mechanisms.
  • Cloud Security Architecture: Knowledge of cloud security architecture principles, including network segmentation, secure connectivity options (e.g., VPN, Direct Connect), and isolation techniques (e.g., VPC, VNet) to design resilient and secure cloud infrastructures.
  • Data Encryption and Privacy: Understanding of encryption technologies, key management practices, and data privacy regulations (e.g., GDPR, CCPA) for encrypting data at rest and in transit within cloud environments and ensuring compliance with privacy requirements.
  • Cloud Security Controls: Experience in implementing and configuring native security controls provided by cloud service providers, such as security groups, network ACLs, encryption services, and logging/auditing features, to protect cloud assets and monitor security events.
  • Security Monitoring and Incident Response: Proficiency in deploying and configuring cloud-native monitoring and logging solutions (e.g., CloudWatch, Azure Monitor, Stackdriver) to detect security incidents, respond to threats, and conduct forensic investigations in cloud environments.
  • Compliance and Governance: Knowledge of regulatory compliance frameworks (e.g., NIST, ISO 27001, SOC 2) and industry standards for cloud security, as well as experience in implementing security controls and governance processes to achieve and maintain compliance requirements.
  • Cloud Configuration Management: Ability to assess and manage cloud configurations to ensure adherence to security best practices, identify misconfigurations or vulnerabilities, and remediate security issues promptly to reduce the attack surface.
  • Cloud Security Assessment and Testing: Experience in conducting security assessments, vulnerability scans, and penetration tests of cloud infrastructures and applications to identify security weaknesses, assess risk exposure, and prioritize remediation efforts.
  • Container Security: Understanding of containerization technologies (e.g., Docker, Kubernetes) and best practices for securing containerized workloads in cloud environments, including image scanning, runtime protection, and secure orchestration.
  • Serverless Security: Familiarity with serverless computing concepts and security considerations, including secure deployment practices, function isolation, and monitoring of serverless architectures for detecting and responding to security threats.
  • Communication and Collaboration: Strong communication skills are essential for effectively communicating cloud security risks, requirements, and recommendations to stakeholders, as well as collaborating with cross-functional teams to implement security measures and respond to incidents promptly in cloud environments.

Position Qualifications: This professional will possess:

  • Education: Bachelor’s degree in Cybersecurity, Computer Science, or a related field.
  • Work Experience: Solid experience in cloud security management.
  • Technology Experience: Knowledge of cloud service models and major cloud providers.
  • Skills and Abilities: Strong analytical skills and ability to work collaboratively.
