GPM is Hiring a Remote Procurement specialist

Overview

As the Procurement Specialist of our Store Services division, you'll be orchestrating the day-to-day functions that keep the services for our retail operations running smoothly.

These services include, but are not limited, to landscaping, fire life safety, pest control, waste removal, and various kitchen services, to name a few.

You will use your experience and creative problem-solving skills in completing a variety of tasks, as well as liaising with external vendors and internal departments.

Best of all, you get to do this in a remote work setting!

Responsibilities

  • Efficiently distribute and manage work orders, ensuring timely resolution by vendors.
  • Demonstrate strong problem-solving skills to tackle unique situations.
  • Verify, approve, and track vendor invoices for payment.
  • Facilitate the setup of new vendors and provide training on work order systems and procedures.
  • Monitor and manage vendor performance, including developing performance metrics and conducting meetings.
  • Maintain documentation and track the status of work orders.
  • Ensure contract compliance and manage general contract administration.
  • Evaluate existing processes and propose alternative solutions for improvement.
  • Implement new procedures and processes as needed.
  • Provide compliance support and train internal departments on procurement policies and procedures.
  • Analyze data from various systems to assess operational effectiveness.
  • Assist with the RFI / RFQ / RFP process.
  • Prioritize and organize daily activities under general supervision.
  • Contribute to the development of long-term procurement strategies aligned with business requirements.
  • Draft standard operating procedures (SOPs) for the department and ensure their maintenance.

Qualifications

  • Proficient multitasker adept at meeting multiple deadlines.
  • Strong analytical and organizational abilities.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
  • Demonstrated experience in procurement / purchasing as an analyst / buyer.
  • Familiarity with sourcing and procurement methodologies.
  • Skilled in negotiation and building vendor relationships.
  • Capable decision-maker with basic accounting knowledge.
  • Experience in data collection and analysis.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Teams, Outlook).
  • Familiarity with ERP and P2P systems preferred.
  • Proven ability to excel in a remote home office setting.
  • Expected to work 40 hours per week in a remote environment.
  • Willingness to travel up to 10% for vendor evaluations, site visits, and company meetings / events.
  • Possession of a valid driver's license.

Preferred :

  • Accredited Purchasing / Supply Chain Certification preferred.
  • Familiarity with ContractWorks, VERISAE VX Fields / VX Observe / VX Maintain / VX Sustain, Smartsheet, LaserFiche, ContractWorks, and Egnyte software systems.
  • Experience in commercial construction and remodeling projects.
  • Background in facilities maintenance operations.
