Responsibilities
The Complex Claims suite within ET P&C Claims is seeking a proficient and self-starting Lead Software Engineer who enjoys resolving complex problems. Our PIP/MPC and Work Comp product team provides a variety of software solutions, including complex automated processing for medical bills and the associated screens used for viewing and managing Auto Personal Injury Protection (PIP) and Medical Payments Coverage (MPC) claims. Mainframe jobs and programs are core pieces of our existing system. In joining this product team, the candidate will help lead the team through modernizing its product, while continuing to meet the needs required of our existing applications. In addition to required mainframe skills, java and AWS skills are highly preferred due to our modernization effort.
Key job responsibilities:

• Applies advanced understanding regarding technology trends/changes, best practices, and processes to complete assignments and influence the direction of product solutions.
• Applies advanced understanding of product design, data design and movement, and testing to ensure quality outcomes.
• High levels of ownership, initiative, and collaboration to work within a team and across multiple stakeholders/partners
• Works well in fast-paced, ambiguous, and changing environment

Qualifications
Competitive candidates must have the following 3 skills:

• Mainframe experience (JCL, COBOL, DB2, VSAM)
• Database functionality and ability to write and execute queries (SQL & Non-SQL)
• Proficient knowledge of Java

Other skills:

• Cloud experience (AWS)
• Devops experience
• Scripting (JavaScript)

Potential yearly incentive pay: up to 18% of base salary
