Rural Health Network of SCNY is Hiring a Remote Assistant Director, Getthere

Position: Assistant Director, Getthere

Classification: Full time, hourly, and subject to the Fair Labor Standards Act.

Position type and schedule—Full time at 35 hours per week, Monday-Friday, overtime not typical

Salary/Pay Range: $25.75/hr. – $27.45/hr.

Reports to: Director, Getthere

General Duties and Responsibilities: The Getthere Assistant Director oversees the Getthere Transportation to Employment Program, Travel Training Program, Volunteer Driver Program, and Getthere Van Pilot Program. The Getthere Assistant Director is also responsible for communications and marketing with the goal of maximizing Getthere’s exposure, and ensuring that partners, stakeholders, organizations, and eligible individuals are both aware of and adequately using Getthere services.

Supervisory responsibilities: Supervises Transportation to Employment Associate.

Specific Responsibilities:

  • Manage the Getthere Transportation to Employment and Travel Training programs. -Supervise and support program personnel. -Implement program work plans to meet or exceed established programmatic outcomes. -Monitor budgets, as needed. -Oversee program case management, inter-organizational casework, data collection and management, and all required program reporting.
  • Lead community outreach and presentation efforts, with support from other Getthere staff as required. Maintain and further develop relationships with community organizations, government representatives, healthcare systems, and agencies. Ensure Getthere is represented at relevant community events across service area.
  • Manage Getthere communication channels and marketing efforts, including Getthere website, the Milepost newsletters, Rural Health Network newsletter submissions, and all flyers, brochures, advertisements, and social media. Manage Getthere marketing contracts.
  • Supervise Getthere AmeriCorps service members, including position development, recruitment, training, and day to day oversight.
  • Lead Getthere efforts to support and expand regional volunteer driver capacity; work with external partner agencies, including Volunteer Transportation Center of Watertown, to recruit and train drivers across five-county region.
  • Develop and maintain relationships with relevant transportation communities, associations, and allied professional organizations (Transportation Demand Management, employment, travel training, etc.).
  • Serve as a member of the Rural Health Network resource development team with responsibilities related to grant writing, proposal development, and fundraising efforts.
  • Manage the operation of Getthere programs and contracts in the absence of Getthere Director.
  • Serve as a member of the Rural Health Network team and continuously improve and support the work of the agency. Seek and initiate tangible, effective ways to integrate and apply all Network services to provide the maximum benefit to those served.

Work environment and conditions:

Location: 455 Court St. in Binghamton. Shared office with TEP staff.

Physical demands: Position requires frequent use of laptop computer at sitting desk. May require lifting of light to moderately heavy event displays, presentation equipment, or boxed materials.

Travel: Position requires frequent travel to meetings, tabling opportunities, events, and presentations across Getthere’s five service counties. Incumbent should feel comfortable traveling in all seasons, on rural roads, and at all levels of daylight. Trainings or conferences may require periodic but infrequent overnight travel.

Qualifications:

Required knowledge, skills, and abilities: Strong interpersonal skills and the ability to cultivate and maintain organizational partnerships; the ability to verbally communicate both effectively and confidently with varied audiences; the ability to articulate ideas thoughtfully and precisely in writing; proficiency with desktop or laptop computing and standard Microsoft Office programs; an interest in health, rural communities, and/or issues relating to equity.

Required education and experience: Incumbent will have a bachelor’s degree or associate’s degree with several years of experience in nonprofit, transportation, or related programming.

Preferred education and experience: Particular interest will be afforded candidates possessing: a master’s degree in public administration, communications, transportation planning, or related field; previous direct supervisory experience; previous marketing, outreach, or public relations experience in day to day work; familiarity with South Central New York transportation services; familiarity with concepts relating to social determinants of health, population health, and wellness.
