Trinity Washington University is seeking an efficient and personable coordinator to oversee the Grow Your Own Program in the School of Education. Grow Your Own a multi-year teacher preparation program, funded by a grant from the Office of the State Superintendent of Education (OSSE), designed to prepare paraprofessionals (such as teacher’s aides) to become certified teachers.
This part-time contract position reports directly to the Dean of the School of Education and will be required to work approximately 10 hours per week, with flexibility in scheduling. It’s a hybrid position (in-person and virtual work to be discussed prior to an official offered being made).
Responsibilities:
Grant Management: Assist in the management of the grant dedicated to the teacher preparation degree program, including tracking expenses, ensuring compliance with grant requirements, and preparing reports for funding agencies.
Program Support: Provide logistical support for the teacher preparation program, including scheduling meetings, coordinating events, and maintaining program calendars.
Student Support: Assist and monitor progress of students enrolled in the program by providing information, resources, and support services as needed.
Communication: Serve as a point of contact for program participants, faculty, staff, and external partners (e.g., local education agencies or LEAs), communicating program updates, deadlines, and other relevant information.
Data Management: Maintain accurate records and databases related to program participants, including enrollment, progress, and outcomes to be submitted to the grant administrator.
Collaboration: Collaborate with program faculty and staff to implement program initiatives, identify areas for improvement, and develop strategies to enhance program effectiveness.
Administrative Tasks: Perform general administrative tasks such as recordkeeping, meeting planning, and responding to inquiries via email and phone.
