Learning Designer

The Learning Designer collaborates with Subject Matter Experts (SMEs), Product owners, and other Learning Designers to create engaging content, assessments, and courses. The Learning Designer maintains best practices for learning development, helps create solutions to learning barriers, and evolve design standards in coordination with other Learning Designers. The Learning Designer leverages organizational metrics to make data driven decisions that lead to increases in learner engagement and learner satisfaction.

Responsibilities:

Course Development:

• Collaborate with product and subject matter experts to produce content and assessments that are rooted in learning design theory, interactive at multiple levels, achieve the learning outcomes, and meets the need of the product area.
• Develop a variety of instructional materials, including participant guides, e-learning modules, presentations, and assessments to demonstrate achievement of performance outcomes.
• Maintain styles and standards for design.
• Collaborate with cross-functional teams, including the Learning Design Manager, learning designers, SMEs, and Product owners, to ensure alignment with learning objectives and organizational goals.

Content Creation:

• Design and develop multimedia elements such as graphics, animations, and videos to enhance course content that incorporate multiple learning styles.
• Utilize e-learning authoring tools and other technology platforms to create interactive and visually appealing learning materials.
• Utilize Universal Design for Learning principles to create accessible content for a variety of learning needs.

Quality Assurance:

• Leverage Learning Design data to make content and course improvements.

• Analyze the Learning Design processes, resources, and standards in terms of effectiveness in course development, student experience, and growth opportunity areas.
• Implement feedback from stakeholders and subject matter experts to enhance the overall quality and effectiveness of courses.
• Stay current with industry trends and advancements in learning design and e-learning technologies.
• Seek opportunities for professional development to enhance skills and contribute to the continuous improvement of the learning design team.

Project Management:

• Develop and maintain project timelines for the creation of learning materials, ensuring deadlines are met and projects are delivered on schedule and on budget.
• Coordinate with internal stakeholders, SMEs, and other team members to gather project requirements and ensure alignment with project goals.
• Implement project management methodologies to ensure the quality control of learning materials, conducting regular reviews and assessments to meet established standards.
• Other duties as assigned

Position Requirements:

• Bachelor's Degree required; Master's degree preferred.
• Ability to build relationships, motivate, and engage with a diverse group of stakeholders.
• Ability to collaborate across teams and with many different stakeholders.
• Can translate plans into action and exhibit excellent judgment.
• Detail oriented with exceptionally strong follow-up and follow-through skills.
• Assumes responsibility to fix problems and create solutions.
• Previous work with learning design data and UX preferred.
• 2-3 years of experience in Instructional Design, content development, assessment creation, or course design.
• Experience designing in an LMS and/or CMS is preferred
• Experience in multimedia creation
