The Guadalupe Cultural Arts Center is Hiring a Program Assistant- Theater Arts Near San Antonio, TX

Job Title: Program Assistant
Department: Theater Arts

Supervised by: Theater Arts Director

Status: Non-exempt; temporary full-time position

Job Summary:

The Program Assistant will support the Theater Arts Director in overseeing and facilitating the daily operations of the Guadalupe’s theater arts program. This role requires a passion for the arts, strong organizational skills, and the ability to work collaboratively with a diverse team. Must have experience and knowledge of Teatro Chicano.

Key Responsibilities:

- Program Development and Execution: Assist in the planning, development, and execution of theater programs including workshops, performances, and educational initiatives.

- Administration and Coordination: Manage administrative tasks such as scheduling, correspondence, and maintaining program records. Coordinate logistics for rehearsals, performances, and events.

- Community Engagement: Engage with the local community to promote the program, foster partnerships, and recruit volunteers and participants.

- Budget Management: Assist in budget preparation and monitoring expenses to ensure financial efficiency.

- Team Collaboration: Work closely with the Program Director, artists, technical staff, and volunteers to ensure smooth program operations.

- Marketing and Promotion: Contribute to the marketing and promotional activities for the theater program, including social media and website content.

- Fundraising Support: Support fundraising efforts, including grant writing, donor relations, and organizing fundraising events.

Qualifications:

- Bachelor's degree in theater arts, arts administration, or a related field.

- Two years of experience in theater production or arts administration.

- Excellent organizational and time-management skills.

- Strong written and verbal communication abilities.

- Proficient in Microsoft Office and familiar with social media platforms.

- Ability to work flexible hours, including evenings and weekends as needed.

Preferred Skills:

- Knowledge of technical theater aspects (lighting, sound, set design).

- Experience working in a non-profit environment.

- Basic bilingual proficiency in English and Spanish

Compensation:
Salary for full time work (40 hours per week) will range between $45,000 and $50,000. This position is funded by a special grant and will last the duration of 18 months with the possibility of becoming a permanent position including a corresponding benefits package.
