SPECTRUM HOSPITALITY IX LLC is Hiring a Fulltime and Part-time Night Auditors (11:00pm-7:00am) Near Wilkesboro, NC

Job Title: Night Auditor

FLSA Status: Non-Exempt

Summary

The Night Auditor works under the direction of the Assistant General Manager or General Manager. Examines and analyzes accounting records to determine financial status of hotel and prepares nightly reports. Acts as Manager on Duty. Provides optimum guest service & satisfaction, showing individual effectiveness, and following proper security & liability measures.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities include the following: Other duties may be assigned.

  • Thorough knowledge of front desk procedures, rates and any special programs or discounts. (See Guest Service Representative Job Description).
  • Balance daily activities of Front Office and F & B (where applicable) operations.
  • Audits items in PMS to determine if accepted accounting procedure was followed in recording transactions.
  • Maintains adherence to all company accounting policies and procedures. Ensures staff is utilizing cash and asset control during assigned shifts.
  • Verifies journal and ledger entries of cash and check payments, purchases, expenses and trial balances by examining and authenticating inventory items.
  • Calculates average daily rate, rooms occupied and revenue collected.
  • Enters daily report into M3 and sends out to managers if requested.
  • Makes recommendations regarding improving operations and financial position of company.
  • Supervises the security officer duty requirements (if applicable).
  • Knows all emergency procedures for hotel and guest safety.
  • Acting as the Manager on Duty (MOD) during hours when no MOD is available.
  • Complete knowledge of hotel operating policies and procedures.
  • Performs walkthrough of property ensuring all entrances/exits are properly locked and secured.
  • Keep all areas of front desk clean and organized.
  • Responds promptly to any guest inquiries or complaints by either doing it himself/herself or delegating a co-employee.
  • Offers alternate solution if guest demand cannot be met.
  • Shows personal control in front of guests by maintaining positive attitude, staying calm & patient, avoiding use of negative language, and never displaying anger; demonstrates a commitment to guest service.

Security & Liability

  • Refrains from calling out a guest’s room number (points to room number instead)
  • Refrains from giving a room key to any person who is not a registered guest
  • Documents any guest accidents by completing the accident report form
  • Completes the maintenance log whenever a complaint is reported
  • Ensures that all entrances/exits are properly locked and secured
  • Knowledge of how to operate fire alarm panel and check for incidences

Job Requirements

  • Knowledge of the hotel layout, all amenities offered, and all procedures & policies
  • Knowledge of local geographic area knowledge, area businesses & services, major highway/street information, and community events & attractions
  • Ability to use effective word choice, grammar, and tone when communicating
  • Knowledge of the safety & security rules & procedures for the hotel

Education and/or Experience

High school diploma or general education degree (GED); or one to three months related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience.
