TITLE FAB Finger Start Setter

LOCATION Cairo Georgia Facility SHIFT 1st (7am 3pm)

Summary / Purpose :

The Setter is responsible for operating and maintaining adjustments of various machines as necessary to meet production schedules and quality standards.

The Setter will conduct quality sampling / testing as required per standard work.

Essential Duties and Accountabilities :

• Follow standard operating procedures and work instructions.
• Perform work in a systematic manner when possible to insure all steps are carried out in proper sequence.
• Read dial indicator gauges and other measuring devices to insure quality standards are met. If manufacturing process is causing quality issues, Machine Operator will be the first responder to troubleshoot equipment and identifying root cause to the problems.
• Perform Set-Ups and troubleshooting of all machines in the cell (Finger press, Hole pierce press, and vision machine).
• Train other associates as needed.
• Support departmental goals concerning housekeeping, safety, quality, productivity, delivery and Standard Work / 5s / Lean.

Perform major clean up as needed.

• Maintains knowledge of current quality and safety systems and other regulatory compliance related to this position.
• Reads and understands Operator and QA instructions for product specifications, dimensions, tolerances, and tooling instructions.
• Assist Operate A’s and B’s as needed when machines are down (Andon system).
• Change all tooling on machine; make machine adjustments with minimum or no defects.
• Perform preventative maintenance task according to PM schedules.
• Rebuild machine stations and tooling to ensure machines produce a quality part.
• Other duties as assigned by Team Leaders.

Job Knowledge, Skills and Abilities :

• Must be able to lift 40lbs.
• Must work with a high level of attention to detail.
• Must be able to maintain composure and focus when completing assigned tasks.
• Ability to work with minimal supervision.
• Must have a strong gauging and tooling skills.

Education and Experience :

• High school diploma / Required
• Manufacturing Experience Preferred

• Work is performed in a normal manufacturing area.
• This position has an exposure to moderate noise levels, moving mechanical parts, electrical power distribution and controls, compressed air systems, hydraulic systems, steam distribution and generation, water, various types of lubricants, chemical and wash baths, extreme heat, mechanical machine operation, etc.
• Will be regularly required to climb, stand, sit, and reach with hands, fingers, and arms.
• Occasional stooping, kneeling, and crouching are required.
• This position requires regular lifting of work up to 40 pounds, and push or pulling work up to 125 pounds with proper equipment.
