Job Summary

The Inventory Control & Food Safety/Quality Assurance (FSQA) Manager is responsible for overseeing all aspects of inventory management, ensuring accurate inventory levels, and implementing effective inventory control procedures. Additionally, this position is responsible for developing, implementing, and maintaining food safety and quality assurance programs to ensure compliance with regulatory requirements and uphold our commitment to delivering safe and high-quality products.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities

  • Develop and implement inventory control procedures to ensure accurate inventory levels and minimize inventory discrepancies for all warehouses – including route sales supplies.
  • Oversee the receiving, storage, and issuance of inventory to ensure efficient inventory management.
  • Conduct regular inventory audits and reconcile inventory discrepancies in a timely manner.
  • Monitor inventory levels and reorder points to ensure adequate stock levels and prevent stockouts.
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams, including Procurement, and Route Sales, to optimize inventory management processes.
  • Develop, implement, and maintain food safety and quality assurance programs to ensure compliance with regulatory requirements and industry standards.
  • Conduct regular inspections and audits of production and warehouse facilities to ensure adherence to food safety and quality standards.
  • Investigate and resolve food safety and quality issues, including product non-conformances and customer complaints.
  • Provide documented training and support to employees on food safety and quality assurance practices and procedures.
  • Stay informed about industry trends, regulatory changes, and best practices related to inventory management, food safety, and quality assurance.

Position Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in food science, supply chain management, or a related field preferred.
  • Minimum of 5 years of experience in inventory management and/or food safety/quality assurance in the food manufacturing industry.
  • Strong knowledge of inventory control principles, procedures, and best practices.
  • Thorough understanding of food safety regulations and quality assurance standards (e.g., HACCP, GMP, SQF.)
  • Food audit certification preferred (USDA, FDA, Merieux Certification, etc.)
  • Experience with inventory management software and systems (WMS, or GP Dynamics preferred.)
  • Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills.
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Proven ability to utilize Outlook, Excel, Word, PowerPoint and other Microsoft tools.
  • Ability to work independently and collaboratively in a fast-paced environment.
