American Legacy Construction is Hiring an Electrical Project Manager Near Lees Summit, MO

American Legacy is a full-service industrial and commercial electrical contractor that since it’s founding in 2007 has distinguished itself as a provider of specialized electrical and low voltage work, including automation, security, and infrastructure. We seek a seasoned Electrical Project Manager to join our team.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Develop master project schedules.
  • Gain "buy-in" and commitment of Field Managers (FM) to schedules and goals.
  • Foster and promote team building via FM.
  • Develop the goal setting and monitoring skills of FM's.
  • Conduct regular weekly meetings with FM to review job progress vs. schedules and goals and to plan for manpower, material, tool, and sub needs.
  • Enforcing company policies and procedures.
  • Evaluation of FM and other field personnel per established procedures.
  • Prepare for and effectively attend project construction meetings.
  • Prepare for and attend turnover and turnback meetings.

Contract Management:

The PM will coordinate Purchase Orders, change order pricing, submittals, critical materials, permits and inspections, correspondence, MSDS manuals, O & M manuals, as-builts and scheduling with the Project Coordinator.

Safety and Risk Management:

  • Promote safety culture at job sites.
  • Assure effective weekly job site safety meetings led by FM.
  • Assure effective attendance at G.C. job site safety meetings.
  • Enforce PEC and job site safety policies.
  • Promote attendance by field personnel at all company sponsored safety classes.
  • Appoint representative from each major job site to company safety committee.
  • Promote company safety incentive program.
  • Responsible for helping develop positive client relationships with the General Contractor, owner, architect, engineer, other subs, vendors, inspectors, and the community at large.

Job Qualifications:

  • Thorough knowledge of the National Electrical Code and other pertinent national and local codes.

Compensation Range:

$100,000 to $140,000 DOE

Responsibilities:

  • Plan, organize, and manage electrical projects according to client specifications and deadlines.
  • Coordinate with clients to understand project requirements and provide regular updates on progress.
  • Collaborate with subcontractors and internal teams to assign tasks and ensure timely completion of work
  • Review project plans, schematics, and blueprints to identify potential issues or improvements.
  • Ensure compliance with relevant electrical codes and regulations, including NEC (National Electrical Code)
  • Manage project budgets, including tracking expenses and negotiating contracts with suppliers
  • Conduct regular site visits to monitor project progress and address any issues or concerns
  • Provide technical guidance and support to project team members as needed
  • Maintain accurate project documentation, including change orders, RFIs (Requests for Information), and submittals.
  • Utilize project management software such as Procore or Prolog to track project milestones and communicate updates.

Requirements:

  • Strong knowledge of electrical systems, equipment, and materials
  • Proficiency in reading and interpreting electrical schematics, blueprints, and drawings
  • Experience in managing electrical projects within the construction industry
  • Familiarity with relevant codes and regulations, including NEC (National Electrical Code)
  • Excellent communication skills to effectively collaborate with clients, subcontractors, and internal teams
  • Strong organizational skills to manage multiple projects simultaneously.
  • Ability to analyze complex problems and develop effective solutions.
  • Proficiency in using project management software such as ProCore or Prolog
  • Bachelor's degree in electrical engineering or related field preferred
  • Required: 3-5 years of prior experience in successful project management.
  • Desired: PMP certification or CAPM equivalent.
  • Required: Journeyman license or equivalent field experience.
  • Desired: Basic estimating and/or change order assimilation
