Duplantier, Hrapmann, Hogan & Maher LLP is Hiring a Bookkeeper/Accountant Near Orleans, LA

Our company is growing and our New Orleans & Slidell office is searching for a bookkeeper.

JOB DESCRIPTION:

Perform monthly accounting and bookkeeping duties for multiple businesses.

QUALIFICATIONS:

  • Public Accounting / CPA firm experience preferred but not required.
  • Associate's or Bachelor's degree in Accounting.
  • 3 years of general bookkeeping, accounts receivable, accounts payable, and bank reconciliation experience or equivalent.
  • Knowledge of practices and procedures related to processing and recording transactions and accounting information.
  • Working knowledge of G/L, A/R and A/P.
  • Proficient in Excel and other Microsoft tools
  • Proficient in various accounting software packages specifically QuickBooks Desktop and QuickBooks online.
  • Ability to prioritize and multitask.
  • Excellent interpersonal, communication and organizational skills.
  • Highly organized, self motivated, and detail oriented.
  • Ability to work in teams and in office setting.

RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Prepare monthly sales tax returns.
  • Prepare quarterly payroll tax returns.
  • Post transactions into general ledgers systems.
  • Prepare account reconciliations.
  • Prepare customer invoices.
  • Prepare year-end tax returns – 1099s, W-2s.
  • Assist with monthly/year-end financial close.
  • Prepare monthly financial statements.
  • Ability to work with clients in Slidell office a few days a month.

Salary commensurate with experience.
