GENERAL SUMMARY:
The Project/Operations Manager, People & Culture leads projects and operations for People & Culture teams within the Primary Health Division (PHD) and Multi-State Division (MSD). Responsible for planning and managing small to large sized projects from initiation through implementation furthering People and Culture initiatives. The manager is responsible for the operations and management of the Human Resources (HR) division leaders. Responsible for managing project status, communications, change management, communicates and reports project status to HR management and project sponsors, prepares time and cost estimates for assigned projects, tracks projects against timelines, updates project plans to reflect actual progress, and escalates encountered situations to the appropriate area with detailed and accurate information. The manager must ensure all business, technical and facility stakeholders are engaged, and projects are completed according to the project schedule and the HR roadmap. The Project Manager requires the ability to work in a constructive, non-biased and collaborative manner by establishing positive work relationships, partnering with facilities, Human Resources, Shared Services, HRIS, Center of Expertise, and other departments to drive success. Actively participates in outstanding customer service and accepts responsibility for maintaining relationships that are equally respectful to all.
PRINCIPAL DUTIES AND JOB RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Creates and monitors the yearly HR roadmap and correlated project plans, tracks risk, and accurately report progress against milestones to keep projects/initiatives on schedule and escalates risk appropriately.
- Develops processes that track progress, identify, and address project and operational tasks and provide updates to senior leadership regarding overall project plans.
- Works with others to develop strategies and understand resources and outcomes/metrics. Communicates appropriately and effectively with project teams, customers and leaders, maintaining awareness of project status and any potential delay, situation or concern that may affect the outcome of the projects. Assists HR leadership with any special projects as requested. Delegates project tasks to appropriate individuals as needed.
- Serves as the People & Culture communication lead partnering with communication divisional leads across business verticals to ensure alignment in messages and communication channels.
- Applies HR reporting capabilities and limitations and utilizes understanding of data relationships between various HR reporting tools. Works with HR leadership to design structures and programs that support AdventHealth’s vision 2030.
- Collects and summarizes performance data, identifies opportunities for improvement, and presents findings to HR leadership.
- In conjunction with the Sr. Manager, Organizational Transformation & Strategic Program Management, leads project team members to effectively assist in reaching their goals; fosters a cooperative, professional, and cohesive team for all projects.
- Build, develop, and grow business relationships vital to the success of the project.
- Provides weekly status reports of assigned project(s)
- Responsible for all project management deliverables; scope, schedule, communication plan, and stakeholder analysis for assigned projects and workstreams.
- Conducts project post-mortems and create lessons learned to identify successful and unsuccessful project elements.

- Strong communication skills; particularly the ability to articulate complex information in understandable terms to team members
- Flexibility to adapt to changing priorities, requirements, and procedures
- Ability to interpret financial and statistical information derived from various organizational reports
- Proficiency in Microsoft 365 and internet-based tools; overall strong technical proficiency
- Analytical ability to apply theories, principles, and practices of multiple disciplines for problem resolution
- Ability to define and accomplish project goals in a resourceful and timely manner
- Ability to respond to stressful situations in a consistent, professional, and courteous manner
- Ability to handle confidential matters with utmost discretion
- Ability to research and write business cases as needed
KNOWLEDGE AND SKILLS PREFERRED:
- Proficient in Microsoft PowerBI and Flow/Power Automate
- Knowledge of ERP systems – PeopleSoft HCM and CRM systems
- HR/Recruitment and project management
EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE REQUIRED:
- Bachelor’s degree in Human Resources, Social Science(s), Communications, or related field
- Two years of experience in Human Resources
- Two years of project management experience
EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE PREFERRED:
- Master’s degree in Human Resources, Business, IT/IS, or related field
- Three years of Human Resources IT experience
- Experience in data analytics

- Change Management Certification
- Society for Human Resources Management Certified Professional (SHRM-CP), or Professional in Human Resources (PHR), or Society for Human Resource Management Senior Certified Professional (SHRM-SCP), or Senior Professional in Human Resources (SPHR)
- Project Management Professional (PMP) credential by Project Management Institute
