Position Summary:The Engineering/Design intern will be responsible for designing, testing, and implementing four iterative 50Hz international products based on existing 60hz domestic products in the Quest catalog. This person will be responsible for establishing the project milestones and deliverables in conjunction with the Director of Product Development, Jr Product Manager, and Sr Design Engineer. The Engineering/Design intern will also lead weekly meetings with the Engineering Team to establish a regular cadence through the development timeline. This person will report to Alan Stahl and Melissa Biel, Quest’s Senior Design Engineer and Junior Product Manager, respectively.

Responsibilities:

• Design products using the latest edition of SolidWorks
• Work with Engineering and Supply Chain to define components and order prototypes
• Participate in and contribute to engineering and project meetings
• Work with Lab Tech to produce and test prototype units
• Potential to operate fabrication equipment and machines to support rapid prototyping
• Maintain lab organization - including workspaces, supplies, and equipment
• Other duties as assigned by the Sr Design Engineer and Director of Product Development

Qualifications:

• Experience with Solidworks, AutoCad, and MS Office Suite
• Experience or willingness to run tests and maintaining test reports
• General understanding of electronics, supply voltage and amperage, and wiring diagrams
• General understanding of test equipment and sensors to measure air flow, temperature, and pressure
• Knowledge or understanding of HVAC, refrigeration equipment, dehumidifiers, and air-mover systems
• Proven problem-solving and critical-thinking skills and attention to detail
• Ability to autonomously follow detailed instructions and complete assignments
• Proven passion for pursuing improvement
• Proven ability to work cross-functionally with salaried or hourly employees at all levels of the organization
