ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS & RESPONSIBILITIES:
•Restrain animals for neurological examinations, procedures, and treatments.
•Prepare prescriptions as ordered by the doctor: Appropriate container, labeling, directions,
and warnings.
•Perform laboratory procedures.
•Assist in performing diagnostic studies including radiography, CT, and MRI.
•Basic inventory and stocking duties.
•Basic surgical duties: Prepare the surgical suite and anesthesia equipment; pull instruments
& open room; scrub & assist in surgery as needed; break down & clean room; clean, wrap
and sterilize packs.
•Take the patient's vital signs including temperature, pulse, and respiration.
•Maintain cleanliness and order in work areas.
•Consistent, on-time arrival at work each day you are scheduled to work.
•Excellent communication skills.
•Ability to work well with others as a team.
•Flexibility and the ability to adjust to a changing environment.
•Handle stress and pressure calmly, with poise and tact.

QUALIFICATIONS: •High School diploma or equivalent.
•Veterinary experience is required.
•Stellar customer service skills are required.
•Basic computer skills are necessary.
•Overtime and Saturdays may be required.

PHYSICAL EFFORT: While performing the duties of this job, the employee is frequently required to bend, stand, stoop,
walk, and stand for an extended period of time. Required to lift up to forty (40) pounds.
Employees will be expected to request assistance with lifting or carrying animals or materials over
40 pounds.
WORK REQUIREMENTS: •Radiation exposure (x-ray, CT Scan).
•Possible exposure to gas sterilization using ethylene oxide.
•Hazards associated with infected animals, controlled substances, and potential exposure to
contagious diseases.
•Exposures to unpleasant odors and noises.
•Exposure to aggressive patients, bites, scratches, and animal wastes.
