This is a remote role, based out of Canada or USA (Washington, Texas, Florida) open to both internal ToursByLocals employees and external candidates. The deadline for internal applicants for this position is Friday, May 17, 2024 by 4:00 PM PT.

As a Guide Community Specialist at ToursByLocals, you will help ToursByLocals guides in increasing their bookings and offerings. Reporting into the Tour Experience Team Leads, you will be responsible for strategizing and executing on plans to help guides convert inquiries into bookings in collaboration with the rest of the Tour Experience team. What this means is that you will have an in-depth understanding of tourism trends, market knowledge, area statistics, and data of various geographical regions. If this sounds like you, apply below!

Your primary goal will be to support our community of guides on how to effectively use our platform to provide 5-star experience to travellers and here’s how you’ll do that:

• Constantly monitoring assigned areas to motivate and engage guides, by sharing best practices and helping them increase bookings with 5-star reviews 
• Participate in and lead projects and strategy development for your assigned geographic areas to ensure the area reaches its targeted sales, using your knowledge of tourism trends and by analyzing data. 
• Review and help tour guides improve their tour content, in accordance with the ToursByLocals platform’s requirements and shared best practices.
• Use data as a tool to make decisions that will impact your assigned geographical area.
• Communicate clearly with tour guides through multiple communication channels, such as email and phone calls, and share best practices and market trends to the guide community.

You may be the right person for this role if you:

• Have 2 years of experience in account management, especially in the tourism and travel industry. 
• Thrive in a fast-paced environment, have an ownership and sales oriented mentality - you take pride in your work and can make quick, and thoughtful decisions.
• Are analytical and rely on data to make decisions, but can still think on your feet - you don’t just skim the surface, but get curious when looking for a solution to a problem.
• Have excellent communication skills and can bring others on board with your ideas.
• Are a team player and enjoy being part of a collaborative team - we believe in taking ownership but also helping each other to succeed together as a team.
• Love to learn and grow - you challenge yourself to learn, fail, and constantly improve, whether that’s through formal education or by gaining professional experience.

We are committed to equitable compensation for employees in similar roles across various regions. The hiring range for this position in Canada is set at $50,000 - $56,000 CAD. We look forward to discussing this with you during our hiring process.
