Job Overview:
We are seeking a skilled and compassionate Medical Assistant to join our healthcare team. As a Medical Assistant, you will play a vital role in providing quality patient care and assisting healthcare professionals in various clinical tasks. If you have a strong background in medical terminology, patient care, and basic life support, we encourage you to apply.
Duties:
- Assist healthcare professionals with patient examinations and procedures
- Obtain and record vital signs, such as blood pressure, temperature, and pulse
- Administer injections and medications as directed by healthcare providers
- Perform basic laboratory tests and collect specimens for testing
- Prepare examination rooms and ensure they are clean and stocked with necessary supplies
- Update patient medical records with accurate and current information
- Provide patient education on treatment plans, medications, and preventive care measures
- Schedule appointments, answer phone calls, and assist with patient inquiries
- Assist with medical coding and billing processes
- Collaborate with other healthcare team members to ensure coordinated patient care
Requirements:
- High school diploma or equivalent; completion of a Medical Assistant program preferred
- Knowledge of human anatomy, physiology, and medical terminology
- Proficiency in performing basic clinical procedures, such as taking vital signs and administering injections
- Familiarity with electronic health record systems
- Strong communication skills and ability to provide compassionate patient care
- Basic life support (BLS) certification required
- Previous experience working in a hospital or clinical setting is a plus
- X-ray certification is a plus
