The Warehouse Utility Operator is a versatile team member responsible for performing various tasks to support the overall operation of the warehouse or distribution center. This role requires flexibility and adaptability to assist in different areas as needed, contributing to the efficiency and productivity of the warehouse.
Key Responsibilities:
Assist in loading and unloading trucks using manual labor, forklifts, or pallet jacks.
Move materials, products, and equipment to designated locations within the warehouse using appropriate handling methods and equipment.
Perform tasks such as stacking, sorting, and organizing inventory to maintain a clean and orderly warehouse environment.
Assist in conducting inventory counts and reconciling discrepancies as directed by supervisors.
Equipment Operation and Maintenance:
Operate warehouse equipment such as forklifts, pallet jacks, and hand trucks safely and efficiently.
Perform routine maintenance tasks on equipment, such as inspections, lubrication, and minor repairs, or report any issues to supervisors for resolution.
Provide support to different departments within the warehouse, including shipping, receiving, picking, and packing, as needed to meet operational requirements.
Collaborate with team members to ensure timely completion of tasks and projects.
Adhere to safety protocols, procedures, and guidelines at all times to prevent accidents and injuries.
Maintain cleanliness and organization in the warehouse, including aisles, storage areas, and workstations.
Dispose of packaging materials and waste properly, and assist in cleaning spills or debris as needed.
Record activities such as material movements, equipment usage, and maintenance tasks accurately.
Enter data into computerized systems or complete paperwork as required by supervisors.
Qualifications and Skills:
High school diploma or equivalent.
Previous experience in warehouse operations or a similar role preferred.
Ability to lift and carry heavy objects and perform physical tasks for extended periods.
Basic math skills for counting, measuring, and recording inventory quantities.
Strong attention to detail and ability to follow instructions accurately.
Good communication skills and willingness to work collaboratively as part of a team.
