Job Description:
AWS OpenSearch Administrator will be responsible for the administration, configuration, and
optimization of our OpenSearch environment. You will collaborate with stakeholders to
understand their search and analytics needs and design effective solutions. Your role will be
instrumental in addressing challenges such as resource contention, data integrity, performance
tuning, data governance, and security in our shared platform environment. Their proactive
monitoring, optimization efforts, and collaboration with various stakeholders help create a robust
and well-maintained data infrastructure, facilitating smooth operations for all applications and
tools sharing the platform.
Responsibilities:
Administer and configure AWS OpenSearch to meet business requirements, including
managing clusters, indices, and data ingestion pipelines.
Design, develop, and maintain search and analytics solutions using AWS OpenSearch,
Elasticsearch, and Kibana.
Collaborate with stakeholders to gather requirements and ensure alignment with
business goals, providing expertise on search and analytics best practices.
Optimize performance and security of AWS OpenSearch environment, including query
optimization, index management, and security configurations.
Provide technical support and training to users, helping them leverage the capabilities of
AWS OpenSearch for their use cases.
Implement data governance best practices within AWS OpenSearch, ensuring data
integrity, consistency, and security.
Monitor and troubleshoot issues in the AWS OpenSearch environment, working closely
with other teams to resolve technical challenges.
Stay updated with the latest AWS OpenSearch features, tools, and best practices,
incorporating them into the organization's search and analytics strategy.
Collaborate with data engineers and analysts to integrate data sources into AWS
OpenSearch, ensuring data quality and consistency.
Qualifications:
Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or related field.
Master's degree is a plus
At least 5 years of experience in administering open source tools such as ElasicSearch,
MongoDB and OpenSearch
Proven experience as an AWS OpenSearch Administrator or similar role
In-depth knowledge of search and analytics best practices
Strong analytical and problem-solving skills
Strong communication and presentation skills to effectively convey complex technical
concepts to non-technical stakeholders.
