Description

SUMMARY

To safely and efficiently stock tool and equipment trailers and follow all safety and company policies and procedures, including competent inspection of equipment as required.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES include the following. Other duties may be assigned.

Technical – Job-Specific

  • Stocks trailers of all equipment per inventory sheet.
  • Ensures the inside of the trailers are kept clean and organized accordingly.
  • Calibrates air monitors on a monthly basis.
  • Repairs and cleans tools and equipment from trailers as needed.
  • Performs monthly and annual inspections on CSE equipment and fall protection equipment and documents the results.
  • Works with blueprints to read, measure and build company specific equipment.
  • Keeps service manager informed of supplies, tools and equipment needed for trailers.
  • Works on field jobs as needed.
  • Drives trucks/trailers as needed (CDL a plus).
  • Uses mill, lathe, and other machine equipment daily.
  • Makes sure all supplies are put away in the tool room and safety room.
  • Keeps track of all missing items from trailers and informs supervisor.
  • Assists with outfitting new trailers when they are put into service and strips out old ones.
  • Ensures the safety room is kept clean, organized and stocked accordingly.
  • Ensures the information on the inside of the trailers doors are updated as needed.
  • Maintains safe operation of forklifts.
  • Makes sure trailers are stocked with special tools and equipment needed for specific jobs and removes them after job is finished.
  • Works safely and compliant with all OSHA, MSHA, DOT and all other safety regulations.

  • Actively participates in on-the-job training as demonstrated by asking appropriate questions and successfully performing tasks.
  • Effectively and respectfully communicates with supervisor and coworkers in verbal format.
  • Reads and comprehends instructions and correspondence; asks appropriate questions and performs the instructed task.

Documentation

  • Completes all required documentation for routines checks for air monitor calibrations, fire extinguishers, CSE inspections, forklift inspections, fall protection, trailer inventory sheets, ladder inspections, etc., in a coherent, legible and timely manner.

Production

  • Capable of working independently and with others.
  • Conscientious about work quality and work area neatness.
  • Manages own time to ensure he/she remains productive.

Safety and Risk Management

  • Accepts accountability for own conduct and obligations.
  • Demonstrates an appropriate concern for safety and risk management.
  • Reports equipment issues, safety hazards or related concerns to appropriate staff.
  • Uses appropriate safety and personal protection equipment; follows safety instructions and protocols.
  • Drug free certification required.

Technical – General

  • Adheres to company ethics, code of conduct, and all applicable policies and procedures.
  • Demonstrates basic mechanical aptitude through life or work experiences, e.g., able to properly and safely use simple hand tools such as wrench, hammer, drill, screwdriver; and able to comprehend how parts are put together with minimal supervision.
  • Demonstrates proficient basic electrical skills such as the ability to identify faulty wiring and cable; operation of basic electrical hand tools, e.g., core drill, hammer drill, right angle drill, saws-hall and angle grinder; proper use of a ground fault circuit interpreter; and proper use of jumper cables.

Education and/or Experience

  • High school diploma or general education degree (GED) and/or;
  • One to three months related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience with machine equipment

Certificates, Licenses, and/or Registrations

  • Valid driver license required; CDL preferred

Language Skills

  • Read and interpret documents such as safety rules, operating and maintenance instructions, and procedure manuals.
  • Write routine reports and correspondence.
  • Speak effectively before groups of customers or employees of organization.

Mathematical Skills

  • Add, subtract, multiply and divide in all units of measure, using whole numbers, common fractions, and decimals
  • Compute rate, ratio and percentages as well as draw and interpret bar graphs
