WIC Registered Dietitian / Registered Nurse

Job Purpose and Objectives:

Assist with coordination and assurance of the provision and quality of direct nutrition and breast-feeding promotion services to WIC participants as outlined by federal, state and local departmental guidelines and provide nutrition education and counseling for other Health Department program participants.

Position Requirements and Qualifications: To perform this job successfully, an individual must be able to perform each essential duty satisfactorily. Position Requirements:

Graduate from an accredited college or university with major in food, nutrition or dietetics, plus dietetic internship or equivalent and registration with the Commission on Dietetic Registration and KDHE Health Occupations Credentialing.

Complete two training opportunities per year in nutrition and health of women, infants, and children as outlined in WIC State Policy and Procedure Manual.

Maintain Commission on Dietetic Registration and KDHE Health Occupations Credentialing requirements of continuing education units.

Certifications / Licenses:

Registered dietitian or registered dietitian eligible, who must apply for and obtain registration with the Commission on Dietetic Registration and licensure with KDHE within a six (6) month period from the date of hire.
