As a VISTA Healthy Futures Member focusing on Chronic Absenteeism, you will contribute to the planning and implementation of initiatives aimed at creating sustainable programs to reduce chronic absenteeism among Pre-K to 12th-grade students. By collaborating with internal and external stakeholders, you will research and implement national best practices, build relationships, conduct outreach, and maintain systems to effectively communicate the challenges of chronic absenteeism.
About You!
· Strong interest in community service and/ or social work
· Dedication to the community, passion for service, and ability to 12 months of service
· Basic computer skills, including the ability to navigate online systems and email
· Ability to multi-task and prioritize tasks
· Organized, responsible, flexible, motivated, and professional
· Ability to accept and incorporate constructive feedback from supervisors and program staff
· Excellent time management and decision-making skills
· Ability to work with diverse populations from all socioeconomic backgrounds and adapt to any environment
· Strong personal standards of excellence, ethics, and integrity
· Ability to speak, read, and write English fluently
· At least 18 years of age by the program start date
· U.S. Citizen, U.S. national, or lawful permanent resident alien of the United States
What we offer:

· Stipend up to $22,882 for the 12-month term ($880.08 bi-weekly)
· Education Award of $6,895 (available after successful completion of service term and can be applied directly towards tuition or student loans) OR end-of-year stipend award of $1,800
· Eligible for Federal student loan forbearance or deferment
