Position Type: Full-Time/Part-Time
Salary Range: $18.00 - $21.00 Hourly
Job Shift: Day

Description

We are seeking a Cook to join our team at our Fanno Creek location in Tigard.
The Cooks primary responsibility is to plan and prepare meals from scratch that are memorable, enjoyable, nutritious, and community-building experiences.

The Cook supports residents and accommodates their individual tastes and service plans by engaging them in the meal planning and preparation process. The chef plays an important role in establishing the kitchen as the heart of every home by creating a welcoming and supportive kitchen environment.

Compensation Range: $18.00 to $21.00 *BASED ON EXPERIENCE*

Shifts Available: Multiple Shifts, Hours May Vary

Your key responsibilities will be (but are not limited to):

  • Preparation and oversight of household meals
  • Prepare healthy, nutritious meals, from scratch whenever possible
  • Maintain unit portions and report when a resident eats less than usual
  • Utilize fruits and vegetables grown in the Elite Care gardens whenever possible
  • Understand and follow each resident’s service plan as it relates to nutrition and hydration
  • Support residents’ autonomy by allowing residents to do as much for themselves as possible

Your qualifications as a Cook:

  • Ability to lift and carry up to 30 pounds
  • Ability to pass a food service sanitation course
  • Ability to read, comprehend, and follow recipes
  • Familiarity with general kitchen equipment and appliances
  • Experience in food service or restaurant experience required
  • Comfortable standing, stopping, squatting, twisting, and moving frequently
  • Strong working knowledge of food preparation techniques, cooking methods, and safety and sanitation practices
