Job Description Summary The Electrical Engineering Technician will work in a team environment in completion of servicing for GE MDS Products. Job Description Essential Responsibilities:
Set-up and utilize a variety of test equipment for completion of daily requirements
Inspect incoming radios for compliance and acceptability
Test units at component, sub-assembly, and system level configurations
Follow defined procedures for test of assemblies
Complete the testing of both printed circuit boards and radio assemblies
Ability to troubleshoot PCBA to component level
Diagnose, troubleshoot, and isolate faults with electronic and electro-optical assemblies
Document investigation of PCBA/Radio assemblies to determine failure and what needs to be to remedy the situation.
Able to read and interpret electrical schematic diagrams and engineering drawings
Recognize and communicate to supervisor any test difficulties and/or product faults in a clear, concise, and timely manner
Be able to work with Engineering to relate process improvements for changes in Work Process instructions or product or product changes
Assist with manufacturing assembly and test when required.
Perform other duties as assigned
Required Qualifications:
High School Diploma / GED
Minimum of 2 years in electronics with component level troubleshooting
Desired Characteristics:
Associates Degree or Trade School in Electronic Technology preferred
Strong written and verbal English communication skills.
Must have the ability to read and interpret schematic diagrams & engineering drawings
Knowledge and experience with Radio Frequency (RF)
Ability to be certified to the latest industry electronic component assembly standards
Knowledge of GE processes
Good Judgement
Ability to work independently and prioritize
Dependable, flexible, versatile and conscientious
Must be able to find, print, and understand documentation and test, troubleshoot, and repair lower level assemblies to component level.
Must be able to use most electronic instruments in shop and test software.
Must have good working knowledge of digital, analog and RF circuits.
Ability to stand, Sit and walk for prolonged periods of time
Ability to work overtime
Ability to lift up to 35 pounds unassisted
