The Wilhite Law Firm is Hiring a Litigation Attorney - Employment Law Near Denver, CO

Position Overview: We are seeking an experienced Litigation Employment Law Attorney with a focus on wages and hours and employment discrimination claims to join our dynamic team. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in labor and employment law, particularly in matters related to wage and hour compliance, including but not limited to the Fair Labor Standards Act (FLSA), state wage and hour laws, and related regulations, as well as anti-discrimination claims.

Responsibilities:

  • Provide legal counsel and representation to clients on a wide range of wage and hour issues, including minimum wage, overtime pay, meal and rest breaks, classification of employees as exempt or non-exempt, and other related matters.
  • Conduct legal research and analysis to ensure compliance with state and federal wage and hour laws and regulations.
  • Assist clients in developing and implementing policies and procedures to minimize risk and ensure compliance with wage and hour laws.
  • Represent clients in wage and hour disputes, including investigations by government agencies such as the Department of Labor (DOL) and state labor departments, as well as in administrative proceedings and litigation.
  • Advise clients on employee classification issues, including independent contractor vs. employee status, and assist in drafting employment agreements and contracts.
  • Stay current on developments in wage and hour laws and regulations, and provide training and updates to clients and colleagues as needed.
  • Collaborate with other attorneys and professionals within the firm to provide comprehensive legal services to clients in the employment area in general.

Qualifications:

  • Admission to the state bar in Colorado.
  • Plaintiff defense experience.
  • Minimum of 2-5 years of experience practicing law, with a focus on employment law and wage and hour matters.
  • Knowledge of federal and state wage and hour laws and related regulations.
  • Strong analytical and research skills, with the ability to interpret and apply complex legal principles.
  • Excellent written and oral communication skills, with the ability to effectively communicate legal concepts to clients and colleagues.
  • Demonstrated ability to work independently and collaboratively in a fast-paced environment, managing multiple priorities and deadlines effectively.
  • Experience representing clients in wage and hour disputes and litigation is preferred.
