GENERAL SUMMARY:

The Logistics Coordinator is responsible for ensuring our orders make it to our customers on-time, complete, and free from damage. Success for this position is vital to our operations and to our relationships with our end customers. An ideal candidate will be passionate about customer satisfaction, able to build exceptional vendor relationships, and possess the ability to organize, monitor, and analyze our outgoing shipments. They will also assist in any freight claims issues and work closely with out accounting team to resolve those issues.

ESSENTIAL JOB RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Develop and efficient system to manage and track all outbound shipments.
  • Monitor and update customers on any variances from expected shipment timelines.
  • Work closely with Customer Support and Sales Departments to notify customers of delays and make recommendations on service recovery with clients.
  • Respond to customer inquiries regarding shipment issues (status, missed appointments, lost freight, shipments pending appointment, refused freight, etc.)
  • Build strong relationships with shipping vendors to leverage when needed.
  • Provide customers with POD or other shipping documents when requested.
  • Proactively monitor high priority shipments.
  • Advise customers of any short shipments per account agreements.
  • Manage the freight claims process for items damaged or missing during transit.
  • Work with our Accounting Team to issue any customer credits related to claims.

    Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:

    • Knowledge of shipping terms and usual and customary shipping practices
    • Knowledge of computer programs, including MS Office and ERP systems
    • Knowledge of lean practices
    • Skill in oral and written communication
    • Skill in problem solving, critical thinking, and decision making
    • Skill in building and maintaining internal and external relationships
    • Ability to flexible, self-directed, and motivated to improve processes
    • Ability to be patient and adaptable to unforeseen changes
    • Ability to prioritize rapidly while utilizing problem solving skills
    • Ability to maintain records, review document for accuracy, and organize, document, and track orders
    • Ability to develop and leverage relationships with vendors
    • Ability to communicate effectively with vendors, colleagues, and company management
    • Ability to research and analyze information and make thoughtful recommendations to management
    • Ability to demonstrate leadership skills, professionalism, and a team-driven attitude

    Education, Experience, and Certification:

    • 3 or more years experience in logistics/manufacturing; experience in the paper converting industry preferred
    • 1 or more years experience in customer service role.
    • High school diploma or GED required; additional education or certifications in related fields (Accounting, Business, Logistics/SCM) preferred.

    Physical Requirements:

    Involves working in an agreeable, climate-controlled office environment. Occasionally

    required to be on manufacturing plant/warehouse floor which requires PPE
