Job Summary

The Maintenance Technician position is responsible for performing highly diversified duties to install, troubleshoot, repair and maintain production and facility equipment according to safety, predictive and productive maintenance systems and processes to support the achievement of the CIT’s business goals and objectives

Qualifications and Experience

High school diploma/GED and completion of a craft apprenticeship, or an equivalent number of years of education and production maintenance experience

· AA degree in mechanical, electrical or industrial maintenance preferred

· Self-starter who is results driven

· 3 years of manufacturing experience; strong hydraulic, pneumatic, mechanical and industrial skills with some PLC experience and HVAC

· Experience in using electrical or manual tools (saws, squares, calipers, etc.)

· Ability to read and interpret technical documents and drawings

· Knowledge of relative safety standards and willingness to use protective clothing (face shield, gloves, PPE, etc.)

· Deftness and attention to detail

Duties and Responsibilities

This description represents the most significant job duties but does not exclude other work duties assigned or required but not mentioned.

· Perform highly diversified duties to install and maintain production machines and the plant facility’s equipment

· Provide emergency/unscheduled repairs of production equipment during production and performs scheduled maintenance repairs of production equipment during machine service.

· Performs simple machinist duties and responsibilities

· Perform mechanic skills including, but not limited to, mechanical, electrical, pneumatic, hydraulic, troubleshooting and repair of production machines

· Read and interpret equipment manuals and work orders to perform required maintenance and service

· Diagnose problems, replace or repair parts, test and make adjustments

· Perform regular preventive maintenance on machines, equipment and plant facilities

· Perform a variety of plumbing maintenance and carpentry functions.

· Use of variety of hand and power tools, electric meters and material handling equipment in performing duties

· Detect faulty operations, defective material and report those and any unusual situations to proper supervision.

· Wear proper safety equipment and comply with company safety rules at all times

· Comply with safety regulations and maintain clean and orderly work area

· Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision, color vision and ability to adjust focus.

Working Conditions / Environment

This job operates in a manufacturing environment.

While performing the duties of this position, the employee is frequently exposed to loud noise, fumes and airborne particles, moving mechanical parts and vibration; may work with or around chemicals that create a hazardous exposure which is defined on the accessible Safety Data Sheets; employee is exposed to moderate temperature changes over an eight-hour shift.

Pay: $18.00 - $25.00 per hour
