Partnership for Maternal and Child Health of Northern NJ is Hiring a Doula Supervisor Near Irvington, NJ

Under the supervision of the Director of the Community Program, The Doula Supervisor oversees the coordination of the Postpartum (PP) Doula program through collaborative partnerships with local birthing hospitals, community agencies, and residents.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES:

  • Supervise a team of three PP Doulas.
  • Always carry a caseload of 8 clients.
  • Identify and establish collaborative relationships with clinical point staff at birthing facilities in Paterson, Elizabeth, Plainfield, and Newark to promote the postpartum doula program and review current hospital doula policies.
  • Coordinate weekly check-in meetings with core implementation team members which include Region 1 and Region 2.
  • Along with clinical staff, identify areas of professional/clinical education and coordinate virtual or in-person sessions with Obstetric clinical staff.
  • Develop promotional materials (i.e., flyers, videos, social media posts, etc.) and events to educate community members about the Postpartum period.
  • Identify other opportunities for community engagement & service coordination (examples would include PP doulas presenting to Centering Pregnancy group sessions, connections with FQHCs and other prenatal care providers, collaborations with home visitation programs, etc.)
  • Attend community-based meetings to promote the Partnership Doula Program.
  • Meet with the PP Doula team weekly (including one-on-one supervision and team meetings) to review program progress, challenges, and data collection.
  • Complete all program reporting accurately and according to the timeline required by the funder.
  • Perform other duties as assigned.

JOB REQUIREMENTS:

  • Minimum of 3 years’ experience as a certified doula (HealthConnect One Certification preferred)
  • Bachelor’s degree (preferred) with a strong focus in maternal and child health, early childhood, public health, or a related field.
  • Experience providing professional/community education, home visiting, and/or supportive services for women and birthing individuals, and families.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
  • Strong organizational skills and ability to use a database for record-keeping, supervision, and reporting.
  • Experience with program planning and management, and community-based programs.
  • Experience working with diverse and multicultural populations.
  • Computer literacy in MS Office Suite.
